I want to vlog so bad but I've always felt like such a poser to try putting myself out there like that but I think my life is definitely interesting enough to vlog about being a full time videographer and, completely separately, a martial artist/upcoming national athlete. Hi Teppo! This video couldn´t have come at a better time. I recently bought a cammera, microphone and tripod to start my vlog. I tried shooting on my phone but it was really uncomfortable and I couldn´t get the results I was looking for. So thank you for this video! And all of your videos. You really are a great inspiration!!
We have many fewer subscribers than Teppo, so we don't know how valid our advice is. But we recently figured out that a good story is much more important than good gear (unfortunately, we found out after buying the expensive gear). A lot of our best shots are filmed with an iPhone or a gopro, just because it's so easy to pick up and feels much more natural than talking into a huge camera.
@@NakedWanderings I agree 100% with the phrase "Gear doesn´t matter". What I meant was that with my phone (not an iPhone) I got good footage, but it wasn´t versatile enough for the kind on content I look to create
@@javirrrro Of course, all gear has its limitations, and once you reach those you need/want to upgrade. But we've realized that as long as we are on the learning curve, making videos on a phone is better than making no videos at all.
"Everyone's life is exotic to someone else." So true. I think even getting a closer look at just how anyone else goes about their day is fascinating because of the novelty. It's different than mine, and thus interesting. Thanks so much for the tips! I'll do my best to incorporate them into some vlogs. ✨
Man, this gave me chills!! I uploaded my 1st "Vlog" in April of '21.... I had 0 clue on what it was or what it was gonna be😔😔 it took 3 weeks to shoot because I was traveling across 3 states, my audio was off, I mean It was a disaster lol but it was sooooo fun making and I want to believe that now, a yr later, I've gotten better, but still learning!! I have been vlogging for 2 years now and these tips were genuinely really helpful. Quick question Teppo. Do you always write your script? Often I plan put the whole video in my head because I find it harder to write it down, it just sorta ruins my flow, what do you find works best?

I always script, I prefer it that way! I might not follow it completely but its a skeleton for the video while filming.

Always carry on backpack!
Most of the electronics, and especially the batteries, are only allowed in carry-on. Unless you buy expensive special luggage.
