For next time all ways take off the fill plug before the drain plug because if you can’t get off the drain plug at least you can fill the diff back up and also the diff oil comes out a lot faster and easier because there is air flow

Really good to have ago always, but Id invest in a workshop manual, it will save you allot of money, also a really good youtube channel for maintenance on the 80s I have found is 2nd Gear Low, he has very good step by step info for the 80s for most things. Awesome work though guys, keep it up, 80s are awesome and worth every cent ya throw at them, cheers
I would recommend removing the catch can. The 80 does not have an EGR valve, making the catch can redundant.

It also looks like the diff breather is blocked. The oil should flow faster
