Oh, you mean K'gari. I get it now. Did you know that there was a shipwreck on the lower QLD coast a lot of years ago and the local Aboriginals, the Butchulla people, helped the survivors. One of the the survivors, a lady named Eliza Fraser, lied and said that they were abused them. The other survivors called her out on her lies but the Island was named Fraser for a while. The Butchulla have been fighting bureaucracy for many years to get the name changed. There used to be an island named Fraser once. Not anymore though. It's like when a woman gets divorced. Her married name gives her bad memories so she goes back to her maiden name.

@ well yeah we go by both names, because that’s what I grew up knowing it as. It’s like if Vegemite changed its name, every Aussie would still call it Vegemite. We don’t go far into the whole political side of life to be honest with you, we focus on travelling and making memories 👍

Another couple of pieces of information for you - calling the island anything other than K'gari is disrespectful? Nothing to do with woke or a political agenda, just outright disrespectful. Also, did you know that the inability to let go of the past can be a sign of mental health issues? Are you OK?
