"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward" (Colossians 3:23-24). Enough said really.

I am going to comment here that I detest boring, almost monotone tunes like the the tune sung for "In Christ Alone".
There is no joy in a tune like that. No vocal challenge. No interest. No excitement.
With five brilliant choirs on stage, we should be able to expect something fantastic.
Some of the kids even looked bored while they were singing it.

I think you meant CORNERSTONE by Hillsong. There were some really happy faces like from Ysgol Y Strade, Ellesmere and from Strathearn

The singers are LOVELY and the girls are beautiful. However, as a Christian this programme really bothers me. What does entertainment and performance have do with worshipping Jesus Christ? Nothing! They should rename it "Songs of Insincerity".

Lee Bee competition is a wonderful way to put a challenge and perfection into singing. Without competition we would have bog standard effort.
One can compete without envy and acrimony. It is character building to accept second place and to concede that someone’s choir sang better.
If there had been no competition there may have been no steam engine, no railway. Also there may have been no aeroplane. The competitive spirit brings out the best effort. We can be God fearing and competitive. The parable of the talents Jesus told. St Paul spoke of the prize that awaits him when he receives the crown of eternal life.

Sharpening and sharing and building our skills and human capital in order to spend it for the Lord is not insincere. Your narrow notion of worship sounds unChristian to me. As one of the leaders stated, many of these young folks are considering how they will serve and how to bring Jesus with them out into the world, and these songs of promise and contemplation invigorate Creed and inspire devotion. They also are following Paul's example of bringing the Gospel up in all situations- in this case a singing competition. Finally, sincerity is a matter mostly of the individual heart. Wherever and whenever people gather to worship there are among them the sincere and the insincere, and God says we will be surprised one Day to see how all that sorts out. Praying you can get over. pg

      Lee Bee,
      Are you talking about Jesus?
Are you talking about the man who went to the pub with his mates? Who liked having his feet massaged? Who had friends who were drunkards and prostitutes and tax-collectors? Are you really talking about the same Jesus who did barbecues on the beach?
If you think that Jesus was a narrow-minded sort of person who placed strict limits on the way that God should be worshipped, then you need to lighten up a bit.
      You are being RIDICULOUSLY judgemental!
