@@bighand1530I wouldn't really count the switch port since it's just funky mode added, but it's actually been 9 years since we gotten a new Donkey Kong game. (Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze came out in 2014 meanwhile 4 years later we gotten the switch port.)
And it came out on the Wii U before the switch port
Also we want dkc 123 remastered
This is one of the most creative and imaginative and best level design I have ever played! Every jump is creative and fun, every screen has so much charm and detail in the background and foreground. The soundtrack is top 5 in video games ever! PLEASE do yourself a favor and get this game immediately. Most underrated game ever.

One of my fav platformers of all time. The music and the worlds are so damn fun. Dont let people saying it's too hard discourage you. Its challenging yes, but its not impossible or unfair and most importantly, its a blast to play.
Now that I have a switch I can't wait to get this one! I wasnt able to play it on Wii U so I'm glad they are moving it to the Switch!

If you like platformers you'll 100% love this game. I know that hyrule warriors is a different genre, but DKCTF blows it out of the water.

Nintendo put Donkey Kong in the deep freezer way back in the storage shed out back.
One of the toughest and most beautiful platform games ever made. The visuals and soundtrack will blow you away. I enjoyed this on the Wii U and will definitely pick it up again

You'll surely love it, i've played it a bit on the Wii U but never finished it. I will get it again on the Nintendo Switch and finish it this time around :-) The only game i ever finished on the SNES was DKC2 (i never knew there was a third one). I played it through virtual console on the Wii U but the game wasn't nearly as good as the first and second one!

@@fabiolg6719 Yeah I agree. When it comes to the visuals, sure the originals were a lot grittier(ESPECIALLY Dkc2) but Tropical Freeze is a lot more "epic" and expansive. There is just so much detail in the environment and it's not just a collection of pretty/phenomenal backdrops like in the originals. This time, the "pretty backdrop" actually plays a role in the gameplay and changes the level in front of you. Just take a look at Rodent Ruckus. A ginormous cheese roll not only shows up in the background but crashes in front of you and begins to destroy the entire cavern, while occasionally sending an obstacle your way before finally tumbling out of the cavern, only to be picked up by a set of balloons you've used as platforms in another level called Alpine Incline. It's just so creative, more so than the originals in my opinion and I hope the Dkc fanbase doesn't label it as "a generic platformer lacking charm".
Smh. When did people get so emo? Dark and gritty graphics aren’t objectively better.
I like that the switch is receiving the highlights of the Wii U so nobody has to worry about keeping that thing around for only a handful of exclusives

I can certainly say its worth buying, I played it back on the wii u when i was younger and recently played through it again (full 100%) and had a great time. Just be warned the game can get quite difficult sometimes for a nintendo game, but the nintendo switch version seems easier anyway with funky kong and i am farily certain its new that you can have 3 hearts instead of 2.
The music still gives me goosebumps. Come on Nintendo! New DK game for the switch please!!
If you skipped out on this on the Wii U, I highly, HIGHLY, recommend giving it a try. This game may just be one of the best 2D platformers I've ever played.
it is a pretty great game! I plan on getting it to make videos on my channel but i wish it was harder... the wii DK game was a lot harder and super nintendo even way more haha

One of most beautiful games on switch
This game is so good. Each stage is masterly crafted, atmospheric, distinct and fun. Yes, even Shoal Atoll.

I completed and 200% the game 2 years ago yet I am still knee deep in the music!
It handles key changes elegantly, great chord progressions, has SO perfect melodies and is overall beautiful!
I could do an analysis on every track and why it’s great. From the reggae esc Busted Bayou to the swiss alps of Windmill Hills. From the ratatouille sound of the accordion in Rodent Ruckus to the pleasing depths of Amiss Abyss’s piano.
I can’t believe how David Wise was able to describe a fruity jungle more perfect than he already does! Harvest Hazards, Jammin’ Jams, Seashore War, Frozen Frenzy, I could go on and on and on.
This game is so good, I can’t stress that enough. If you don’t own this game for some reason, PLEASE buy it! It is so underrated even though it’s the gold standard and the magnum opus of Nintendo’s 2d platformers!

The Gaming Gecko I don’t understand why you guys think all Wii U owners are “jealous” when the Switch gets Wii U ports. I own a Wii U and a Switch, obviously I’m not going to buy the same game with an extra “easy mode” for $70 (Canadian) The game is a solid platformer but definitely isn’t my favourite Wii U game. Either way I can definitively say that if anything I could really care less about Wii U ports. There’s no need to overstate the pride about not buying the Wii U.

What is that noise about? Switch owners who haven't tried the game on Wii U shouldn't be cocky and people who have both consoles or just Wii U shouldn't call buyers of the switch version idiots because of the prise. I want these kind of games back all these stupid games with in app purchase are a money grab and moral like fortnite but especially mobile games. A game back in the day was way more original and cost 40-50euros but it was Finished, original and didn’t exploit children and teens with in app purchases
My favorite Nintendo franchise since the snes DKC series. This game has easily one of the best soundtracks also.
