- The characters who rarely drive or do not appear so often have unremarkable cars, and don’t always have the same vehicle. But, as we will see, there are some notable exceptions.
The year 2023 marks 50 years since the pilot and first series of “Last of the Summer Wine” were broadcast. This series of videos is filmed in many of the well-known, and some less well-known, locations seen in the programme.

i always wondered what Marina's tiny yellow car was. i guess i shouldn't be surprised that it's a product of the fabled "Englishman in his shed" (figuratively speaking).

You do an excellent job digging into the best show ever made. The curb drains at the end are big and look a bit dangerous. I've been watching Last of the summer wine years and the question about why they're that has bothered me. Could you tell me why they're so big?
Thanks! I wish I knew about those drains. I have always imagined they are storm or flood drains, but in that location ..? If anyone is a drain expert, let us know!
Crushers first car the white one is not a 2cv,whilst in fact it's a Citroen,the model is an Ami.
I correct you, as the vehicle in Who's looking after the Cafe is a Citroen Dyane.

I have always taken an interest in the technical and behind-the-scenes aspects of theatre, tv and film. I know people in tv and have been "backstage" at BBC TV Centre.
Your comment that Entwhistle’s Toyota had been hair sprayed was a bit of inside information. I just retired after a fifty year Hollywood career as a cameraman and we occasionally used dulling spray although treating a whole truck would be difficult to get an even finish. I’m guessing they gave the truck a professional matte respray.

A slight correction on Masseys garage in Market Weighton, it closed in the late 1980s by which time it was a Land Rover dealership. The building was divided up into 3 units, one of which became a Netto, later Asda supermarket
My information is from a reliable source, I had no reason to query it. I was aware of what happened to the building later, but that was not relevant to include.
@@upstagedbyadog That's fair enough, I agree it wasn't relevant to include what happened to the building later within the video, I was including it within my comment in case anyone was interested. My earliest memories of the town date from 1991/2 and I don't remember the garage, that's why I am saying late 1980s
