- Adam receives a mystery box in the mail, and in this case it's the box itself that's the gift! The team at Zarges has sent over one of their K470 aluminum cases--a design which Adam has long admired since seeing it used as film props in Casino Royale and The Avengers. This video typifies what I love about Adam
I love those cases. When I was a photographer, I put a bit over 1m miles on a couple from new in a year. Cases and contents survived everything the airlines and airports threw at them. Judging by some of the dents, also probably being thrown at the airports. Being aluminium, I also like the way they develop a.. patina showing they've been used as intended.

Yeah, self promotion wasnt the main reason. No, of course not.
@@nordimejia5790 If it was sent to him for promotion, for the purpose of him making a video on it, he would have said so. He specifically said that he did not know they were sending him anything, and he would have known in advance if it was a promo thing. In fact, on TH-cam you are legally required to declare advertisements/promotions of that sort.

That's how you do a promotional gift! It's not just full of promotional stuff, it's been packed with items specifically for Adam, ideas they only could've gotten by actually watching his videos, showing they are actually fans of his as well!
and you can tell they didn't just watch a couple videos, somebody there has been watching for awhile.
That is so thoughtful, and wonderfully laid out, they caught each element of Adams personality in this gift, starting with the box, and that lighter was the cherry on top.

nit: that is not Butane, it's lighter fuel made of petroleum distillates, often called Naphtha.

I love a great unboxing, and this is simply a live letter to Adam's personal favorites.
That is a gift to the core. If I were Adam I would go buy 100 cases, from them, for this gift.
Adam, I often forget that you are only 5 months older than me when I in fact look up to you so much for your skills and enthusiasm. I feel like I learn something from you in almost every video of yours I watch. As you describe your childhood, I sometimes feel like I'm listening to my childhood. We just went on different paths. I too was into models and kit bashing them in the 80's. I don't think I even heard of that term until years later. And, I was interested in movie special effects back then, but I honestly think I was more interested in being a stunt man, LoL. I didn't pursue any of that because I followed my other dream, to join the military. The US Navy. Now, many years later, I'm a 100% disabled Veteran (not complaining. If I had it to do all over again, I would) who enjoys woodworking, building models, customizing 1/64 scale diecast cars (Hot Wheels and such), building dioramas, and photography. I photograph the sports teams at the school my wife works at and give the photos to the school and the students. One of these days I need to upgrade my equipment, but I'll get there. It's just a joy to see the kids faces when they see themselves in print. They are superstars. I feel like your videos are helpful towards my hobbies in so many ways. Thank you so much for sharing your Experience, Talent and Enthusiasm with us. You are always a joy to watch. God bless you.

I can't afford them right now, but I've had my eyes om some Zarges ever since I saw Adam talk about them. I've always wanted some aluminium cases, and with Adam's recommendation, Zarges is IT. Especially the collapsible ones! Pricey, but am totally gonna get some when I can afford it, all thanks to Adam showing them.❤👍

for everyone interested Zarges is a German brand, producing in Europe. They are also known to build ladders and scaffolding. But their quality is pricy

When Adam gets happy and sentimental we all do
I've been told that I'm an amazing gift giver, and I just want to say that no one tells you what they really want when you ask them, even if they think they do. They tell you what they really want when you hear them complaining about something, or when they're struggling with something. Because that gift shows not only that you understand what they want/need, but also that you care enough to pay attention to recognize their needs.
For example, I just heard my mom gush about her friend's onion container (we recently did a kitchen renovation and our onions are currently stored in a bowl in a cupboard), so I recommended my brother look into it, since he's still doing his shopping.
This is one of my all time favorite kinds of videos. Much like the Bunderberg rootbeer one where they honored you out of the blue. These are the universe giving you a gracious wink, and a knowing knod. True gifts.
Me wanting a Zarges isn't because its a great product, but because the people behind it are thoughtful and took the time to make a special gift to Adam.

Just watched this never having heard of Zarges, and my kids happened to be watching The Avengers in the other room. When Cap breaks into the storage area on the helicarrier, the room is full of Zarges cases. The are beauties.

I am not a builder, but I find these videos entertaining and informative. But this one is something special - I find it surprisingly heartwarming.
When I was in the military (in Norway) we used Zarges aluminum crates and cases for damn near everything. one day I stumbled across a Zarges step ladder, and it was one of those things you dont expect something to be so good, like a rolex of step ladders, it looks like any other step ladder just like a rolex looks just like a watch. i realize a step ladder is a weird thing to obsess over but i think its just one of those things you have to be there to experiance.
Wow they really did their homework, that’s impressive. If I ever have need I’ll definitely consider Zarges. I also love the design of those cases but don’t, at the moment, have any need for one. But should I, I will.

That tray on the table behind him caught my eye. I have a set of those photography trays. They're nice enameled steel trays. I still develop film, but if I ever quit, I'd use those trays around the shop too.
Im most impressed that Adam stood up and 2 seconds later he had the right size screwdriver and a can of lighter fluid. It would take me about a beer, beer and a half to find all that in my shop.

Sure, it's a promotion, but how nice to make it so personal. Someone's put some real thought into that, gone out and sourced the gifts, and then cut foam to house them. What a shame the couriers couldn't treat it with respect. I noticed one of the edges was a bit banged up too. I don't know who handled your delivery, but I've found that UPS and DHL seem to go out of their way to make sure your packages arrive in the worst possible shape.

It's not good to use metal boxes for RC stuff. Old timers thought me that in the early 90's. If it's steel it will ruin your motors and any other metal could short out batteries and electronics.

The thing with Zarges cases is that you don’t need to be picky about age - normally. They are so robust that 20-40 year old cases are just fine if you don’t mind Patina from their previous life…
A good source are auctions for government surplus, especially in Europe (widely used by firefighters, police and military). Airlines and Railways are a good source too. I have 4 used cases myself: 1 Bundeswehr, 2 Lufthansa, 1 Deutsche Bahn - all with embossed Logos and Department names.
I lived in Charlotte a few years, beware attempting to navigate the roads, virtually every road in Charlotte is named "Queens" for some reason :-).
Adam, as a huge longtime fan from Charlotte, North Carolina, I do hope you come visit and enjoy your stay here in the Queen City. I'm pleased to learn that Zarges is based here, i didn't know Charlotte was home to such a fine pedigree of excellence. I recommend you try and come in early spring, it's particularly lovely when the flowers bloom, prior to our annual Pollenpocalypse and when what we call spring turns to hot, muggy, and humid midsommar (know you love that movie) in the blink of an eye. You're gonna want to get some good NC barbecue while you're in town!
Also if you're in Raleigh, you're gonna want to pronounce it Raw-lee not Rally so as not to upset the locals 😉

This is what I love about this channel, I never knew that existed before and now I almost want one. Information to be filed to the back of my memory for when needed. I also guess I'm not alone there's been a few things I've ordered and I'm like I know I ordered that for a project but I don't have any idea what I was going to build with it. I keep reminding myself I need to make a note of what I'm planning to build when I order it. Which wouldn't be hard I'm already taking the tracking numbers and throwing them in a text file so I can keep track of what I've ordered.

We used Zarges boxes for decades in disaster and counterterrorism response. There's no better combination of light weight, space efficiency, and durability. They aren't quite as bombproof as pelican cases, but the seriously lower weight and better interior volume, and better nesting and maximizing cube space with multiple units makes a big difference.

Ginger Beer at Xmas is traditional here in Oz. It gets hot so us kids grew up on Ginger Beer while the adults got that other beer. That's still my favourite brand.
