I'm also using the Heroes 5.5 mod.

This game should get HD remaster. My No1. Heroes game for sure.

Pay attention to how baddas and cool the lich looks in heroes 5. He looks like a boss in Necropolis army
Heroes 5 is the most awesome in terms of visuals and design, you directly feel the work and efforts of artists and animators.
I generally agree with the exception of dungeon and fortress factions, which sadly are just various humanoids with a dragon champion creature.

This is the best game in the franchise exactly because the mechanics are te closest to heroes 3 but theres more of everything with more possibilities. Not to mention the new graphics with awesome artwork and climate. The only parts I play to this day is 3 and 5.

Different variations for the same units really shows how there's different factions within each army. Wish more RTS's did that.

These are not RTS (Real Time Strategy) games, these are TBS (Turn Based Strategy) games. RTS actually needs all units and factions to be easily recognizable at all times, so they tend to look more uniform for design reasons, so when you look at a Swordsman and an Archer, you can both tell they belong to the same faction easily. RTS games also focus a lot more on team colour.
I honestly prefer the older design of the Treants than what the mod gives.

I agree completely! Heroes 5 has one of the best unit design of all heroes games. It really makes every faction feel unique.

T6 units are some of the best looking, imo. Wraiths, Pit fiends, Rakshasas, Treants, Paladins, Thanes all look amazing. Half of T7 are just dragons over and over.
Btw, the Treant model from HOMM 5.5 was the first original one designed for the game, If I remember correctly, Nival changed it because of some copyright issues, and the mod brought back the old one. I like the skinny, tall one more personally.

All units in heroes 5 are awesome
T6 units are some of the best looking, imo. Wraiths, Pit fiends, Rakshasas, Ents, Paladins, all look amazing.
This game is pure nostalgia fuel for me man.

This brings a strong feeling of nostalgia. I loved these units' design and animation so much! The cities' design is so great, too! I remember using a cheat program (a 'trainer', if I recall correctly) to break the 1 building per day limit and build everything available at once only to watch animations of flying around all this beauty. I was mesmerized, and the game's awesome soundtrack made this experience even greater!
someone needs to remake this game (AKA not necessarily remaking it but keep the HoMM franchise living and making new campaigns) as imo this is the best game of all
That would be great but unfortunately I don't think Ubisoft will ever remaster Heroes 5. Maybe some third party will..

Haven have an empire vibe as well their is literally a warrior priest
And its sad. In HoMM 3 there were a really cool and unic Dungeon and an awesome Fortess. I loved the design. In HoMM 5 Dungeon and sexy elvens were my fav but still, the unic Heroes athmosphere is gone.,..

My theory has long been that the assets for HoMM5 were originally intended for a Warhammer Fantasy game; then Ubisoft bought the rights to Might and Magic (or GW didn't give Ubisoft the rights to Warhammer) so they just scrapped the Warhammer game and recycled most, if not all, assets. It honestly doesn't make sense that this game could have such good graphics for the time with the short development time that it had. We also know that Assassin's Creed was going to be a Prince of Persia game, but they couldn't get the rights to that series so Ubisoft made their own game. Wouldn't be too shocked if the same sort of thing happened with Heroes 5.
I love how the units aren't styled in some specific art style that would make them all the same, sure they are made in an art style, but they all look unique and how they should look. You can tell easily what they are without having to read the name. It just feels like you're playing in a fairytale story, as it should

When Dungeon lvl 1 unit outperforms most lvl 2 units. Stalkers are beasts.
Fortress lvl 1 are better at times
How egsactly? They come very few per week and in a large scale battle are useless. They can perform one attack before getting ieted out of egsistence by literally anything and aren't even ranged so you can't use then properly in sieges... At least assassins are ranged and poison their targets so they deal damage over time even though their attack is sh*t. Otherwise dungeon tier one is unreliable and weak. I'd rather have f*cking imps. At least they can steal mana...

@@manolgeorgiev9664 I like the peasant.... just keep him on the first lvl and in two weeks he will have payed for himself, and if you get the hero who doubles it he can do it in a week.
Also get yourself a Hall of heroes and with your newfound wealth convert 20 of them every week into archers. Thats almost 2 weeks of archers extra.

if this franchise had made an MMORPG with art/lore based on this installment, I would've play the shit out of it. my 27 year old ass once tried to get into WoW but I just couldn't bring myself to like the art style and the childish/memey plot. had a few things going for it but I gave up after 2 months
The company who made Heroes 5 worked on a russian MMO called Allods if you like the arts

Honestly a great heroes game just needs to combine heroes 3 and 5 and build from there

The art style of the original upgraded units looks way better to me in terms of their icons
the one thing i hate the most in homm5 is the gargoyals. piece of slab that is somehow able to fly and flies bloody slooooow. homm3 gargoyals look intimidating and flies like a demon
Gargoyles were so annoying in Heroes I and II, so they returned to tradition and made them annoying again in Heroes V.

Then again, the difference in Powerlevel was absurd in 1 and 2.

My favourite faction is Academy, but I like all factions :).

I like h5 a lot but I prefere much more art style design and units placement in H7. I love all homm games ( only 6 one fail a little bit)
A shame Ubisoft didn't fund patches and put in all that DRM as I still rather enjoy 7, and more people would if not for all that hate over those two things. I never particularly cared for the tone and style of 5 even if it does have good gameplay.

I'm afraid I can't do either of those 2 things currently. I'm not able to upload in a resolution over 1080p and I don't think it's possible to disable the UI.

Red Dragon isn't necessarily better. It has some benefits over the Black Dragon but also some drawbacks.

I personally don't have that problem. For most people (including me), the reason why all Heroes games are so good is that they are always fun to replay. Maybe you could multiplayer if you already didn't :).

Ugh, how I hated the dwarven fortress, no monsters just boring dwarves, can't imagine that somebody really loves that! Also didn't like the Dark Elf whores, rather seen troglodytes and Evil Eyes back.

The things are really lack of creative ideas in comparison with III. Basically, they adopted total race concepts from DnD. Also, V's art style is crap. III is way more wild and bold about selection of the creatures and offer exquisite depiction for each of them. And stories and story-telling started deteriorating to shit since V.
