Rainforests are incredible places, have been lucky enough to have visited some over the years. Most memorably Gorilla trekking in Uganda. Great video stu.
I once experienced a few days of jungle trekking in the 1980’s along the western Colombian coast. The nearest village was Juanchaco, an Indian tribal town, at least it was back then. We slept in hammocks, no tents, at night it was extremely noisy with all sorts of sounds of the jungle. The coast was alive with all sorts of wildlife, mostly bugs 🐞 We trekked across rivers, it was an amazing experience, but not something to do without trusted guides. In fact 8 people out of 12 of us caught Malaria 😂. Not me thankfully!
@@olderbackpacker Well, probably a few days on a Camel 🐫 train in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains about 15 years ago with a Berber tribe for a few days, sleeping in the open air in the desert 🏜️ was a memorable experience too. Especially seeing the stars ✨ at night, never in my life have I seen so many! They wanted me to continue right across the desert, but it would have taken about 10 more days, but I had a job to get back too!
I've many experiences with wildlife here in Philippines,Batangas. Yellow birds, bluebirds, many hawks and on one occassion walking down a country lane I came face to face with a pack of 15 monkeys.
@olderbackpacker Yes. I froze. They were crossing the country lane, stopped to look at me for a brief second then carried on. Thought they may attack but they didn't.
Amazing walk. Love rainforests. Beautiful 🤩👍
Nice one Stu, good morning out, lots of bugs and suspense, i half expected a few snakes for dramatic effect along your walk 🐍🐍🐍🐍

I would love to do something like that but I don’t think my budget will allow me :/
It's amazing but not cheap I agree.but it's something I have always wanted to do & did it twice in fact! £££! But soo worth it.
👍
Cheers mate
That trip was very enchanting. Pity you did not get to see a few of the animals you were wanting to see. Perhaps tomorrow.
It was still an amazing experience walking through the rainforest though :)

That sounds like an incredible experience mate! Especially in the days before mobile phones. Have you done anything as adventurous since?

15 monkeys?? Wow, I bet that was an experience!

Very lucky but still an experience :)
I'm wondering if you have trouble sleeping in hostels. How many hours of sleep are you able to get?
I am lucky that I can sleep anywhere :) so it doesn’t usually bother me in hostels and I get roughly about 6-7 hours :)
Are you visiting your family
My family in Borneo?
@@olderbackpacker yeah. The Orangutans 🦧 haha
