the oxford part of the vlog was stunning! ✨ and it's always nice to hear your expanded thoughts on the books you're reading! the part about the fmc being comfortable with physical intimacy but not emotional intimacy i feel is an emerging trend, and in my opinion brings up good points about how we need to figure out how to coordinate the two, not only in ourselves, but with the people around us. it's also fitting you brought up normal people because that was one of the first books that made me start thinking about that more deeply, along with rachel cusk's 'outline' series, which by my reading is about a woman post divorce realizing a more proactive approach to building relationships is required, and just committing isn't enough. also, i haven't finished any of the books i was talking to you about previously, and now i'm re-reading age of innocence by edith wharton 🙈
