I guess I'd classify them as progressive melodic death metal but music is often hard to put in distinct boxes.. But yeah, they sure deserve more view & recognition. I've been listening to metal for over 25 years and over the years my favourites tend to come and go but Be'lakor has stayed at the top of my list for many years.. They might resemble some other bands but they do their own unique thing and what they do is sooo good.
Be'lakor is just amazing! They only create great songs. And just a tip, every song from this album, Vessels, has a Official Lyric Video, if you want to embark in this album journey. If im going to recommend something from them, i think "Locus" or "By Moon and Star" are great for the next ones, especially because both are from albums that you didnt reacted yet.
They definitely deserve more attention. I'm not sure of the difference between black and death metal, but I definitely feel it's melodic death metal. I love that you're going to keep reactions for them going. A few suggestions: Venator, Hidden Window, Much More Was Lost.
They are definitely melodic Death metal. Ne Obliviscaris - these guys are more melodic black metal. Both bands represent a progressive side of melodic death/black metal. 🌀🌀🌀✊✊✊
The difference is that Black Metal isn't actually good haha. I mean you can go listen to Dimmu Borgir or Carach Angren and come back and tell me what you think, but I associate most Black Metal with super fast blast beat drums and shrieking vocals.
Nice reaction. These guys are from Australia and apparently not full-time musicians and not touring often which is a shame because the band is awesome. Their music is more melodic death metal than black metal I think, a music style especially heard much in Finland/Sweden. Some other songs worth listening to are An Embers Arc, Valence.

The genre is melodic death metal. They are surely in top three bands in the world with regards to this style. Only Insomnium is higher (they have a larger discography..). Belakor are among those hidden gems that are not very well known, but as you said, deserve much more recognition. The whole album Vessels is a masterpiece. Unfortunately nowadays quality is not the most direct path to populaity, but marketing is.

I have told them before (on Instagram,lol) that I believe if Beethiven, Bach, and Holtz were metalheads, they'd listen to Be'lakor!😅 def do officoal videos when you can, they akqays have lyrics.
