  • Help MRSN raise £13,570 to expand our destitute project, so that we can provide donations of clothes, furniture and household appliances that people desperately need.
MRSN is a grass-roots charity, directly managed by refugee communities in Greater Manchester. For over 24 years, we have been providing practical support to those fleeing persecution, conflict, and various forms of injustice and abuse.
For the last year, we have been working tirelessly to support refugees and asylum seekers to survive the coronavirus pandemic. This included launching our destitute project, which provides weekly food and hygiene parcels to destitute refugees and asylum seekers across Greater Manchester.
We have built a dedicated volunteer team and networks to provide these donations, and now we need the start-up costs to expand improve the infrastructure to meet these demands.
The growth of our destitute project and our housing appeal, has led to a huge influx of offers of high quality donations of furniture, home appliances and clothes, to help our beneficiaries make homes to restart their lives. Many of our beneficiaries are in desperate need of these items, as they come to the country without the finances to afford these things. However, our small office premises are at capacity, and we have no storage facilities, nor the staff time to coordinate volunteer delivery drivers. Therefore we have to turn away most donation offers.
By expanding our facilities, we will have the infrastructure to run this sustainable, recycling initiative, that accepts good quality donations and gives them a new home with refugees who desperately need them. For more stories and information on our appeal please click the link below:

Your donation will allow us to create an initiative to recycle unwanted items and as a community, help create homes for refugees.
With your donation, we will be able to cover start-up costs for expanding our destitution project, so that we can do more to give refugees the tools they need to rebuild their lives.
    £20 covers weekly diesel costs
    £40 covers a month’s storage
£110 covers 1 day a week of a dedicated staff member’s time to run the project.
£7,000 covers the cost of a good quality second hand combi van
Our total target is calculated by the annual cost of running this project.
It is the time for us to come together to make a real difference. Let’s come together, to create homes as a community. For more ideas on fundraising, please click here.
Thank you from all the staff and clients at MRSN. We could not do this without you.
