    I wish I could finger pick like you...your fingers look like the hammers in a piano..moving very precise and consistent...I completely spaz out when I try that and end up doing everything with 3 fingers max

      Hey mate, thanks for watching. The 'trick' to fingerpicking really is just to assign a finger to each string and then have your thumb walk on the 3 bass strings. Practicing the pattern over and over, without changing chords is the key. All the best, Simon

    Great lesson but why in the world would you do it on a solid body electric guitar.

      Ha! Fair point. It happened to be the guitar I was playing that day during lessons. I'll try to be more apropos next time. Thanks for watching.

      What guitar is that by the way? Has a lovely clean sound. Looks like my cheap danelectro knockoff. ;)

      +Tinto4 Fender Jaguar. The neck pickup is a Lollar Charlie Christian. Glad you didn't take exception to me playing an electric guitar on this song ;)

    Actually explaining what you are doing would be good. I.e the finger pattern

    • @SimonMorelguitar
      @SimonMorelguitar  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Geodude123man Sorry it wasn't helpful for you. There's not really a set pattern I'm afraid, but generally if you play the bass, then the g (3rd) string, then pinch the top 2 strings then finally the g string again that will help. Those four notes should fall on quavers. I e 1 + 2 +. Then repeat the pattern. Just so you know, these lessons are primarily designed for my private students to follow along with the chart. Thanks for your feedback. Simon

      Ah I see, I didnt realise it was meant to be accompanied by charts.

      @SimonMorelguitar  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Geodude123man No problem, it's just a happy accident that they're available for the public here on TH-cam. If the pattern is bothering you, maybe try an easier song. I've got tutorials of things like Time after time by Eva Cassidy or Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard in this kind of genre. All the best with the guitar. Simon
