I've been reselling too, both online and locally. I joined a Discord group that shares huge discounts/price errors/restocks on high demand and out of stock items. Most of them come from Amazon so there's a safety net if things don't sell, I can just return them. My main category is sneakers. Been doing it for about 5 years now, but recently kicked it into overdrive because I have a lot more time on my hands. I sell both online and locally. Made a lot of connections and have a steady stream of income now, while back then I did it for fun and profit was all over the place - depending on what I'd get and when I'd sell it. Still nothing to live off of though, but pretty nice pocket change. I also tried dropshipping and investing in stocks. Made some money off of that but dropped them because the whole sneaker thing was kicking off and I'm a lot more familiar with that scene.

I was not cut out for it......and to this day I still suck.....I just ordered something off line and realized the day after that I put the wrong apartment number so I have to put a posted note on the person's mailbox the day it says delivered and tell them it's for me......yep I'm not going back to reselling.

If they don't have much money you will get very little. State laws make a difference also. In some states you have little options to collect your money.

Then I didn't have the extra cash to "invest" in re selling. Also had a bad experience with a customer making a false claim about the product, and had to give them a refund to avoid a bad review. So it put a bad taste in my mouth I guess lol. I've been debating trying it again however.
When you build these accounts with other people content, is it enough just to tag or you always reach out for permission? Curious if you have ran into any issues.
Right at first I had only a couple people complain but usually people love getting posted on them because it just puts their name out there in front of people. I don’t usually ask for permission because majority of what I post is from where someone tagged the page.

But I currently study for a Masters in Architecture in London, and architecture isn't a job that pays very well straight off the bat, so I quite like the idea of having other sources of income. I have a small pixel art print business on Etsy but it's gone very quiet recently. Great video!

One of the reasons people will pay slightly more on ebay over amazon or local is because of paypal credit. Another HUGE market is in selling gift cards. You can buy unused gift cards and resell them on ebay higher than their face value. Its dumb but pretty neat.
With ebays new managed payments you can’t sell gift cards anymore...at least for now. There are a lot categories when sellers get switched over to ebays payment processor you can’t sell anymore. Most of them are because they are allowing Apple Pay and they don’t allow certain types of transactions. I don’t think it will stay like that forever because eBay will lose a lot of money but for now that’s how it is.
I really didn’t do the math on the profits yet but for majority of stuff I’ve sold it was really good margins so I made pretty decent money off it considering what I was doing.
