Urdu is an Indian language. Out of 22 scheduled languages of India. Besides Urdu was born in Delhi, India called "Zaban-e-Hindvi" initially, later becoming the lingua franca of the subcontinent, along with its earlier form Hindi or "Khadi Boli". Hindi uses more Sanskrit words whereas Urdu more perso-arabic but the difference is subtle and words can be used interchangeable. Notably Urdu/Hindi are together called "Hindustani", lingua franca of Northern India and Pakistan.
Japanese!?! How!?! I could see them guessing like, a Chinese language as they sound a *little* similar, but Japanese sounds vastly different to either! They must not have many experiences with languages outside of their own.....
As someone who studied japanese certain parts of some words do sound similar, maybe its how the vowels are pronounced. But i wonder if thats because of the impact Mongolia had on east asian
@@kuroichan101 Most likely yes. The more modern Mongolian thats spoken in the video’s a lot more similar to Russian id say, as mongolian’s usually written in Cyrillic letters nowadays. But the older mongolian’s very similar to some other east asian languages like Japanese, Korean, Chinese(maybe, i dont know very much abt the language). It also goes as Ka, ki, ku, etcetc. There arent many lone letters. Its also read from up to down. Im not really good at it(the older mongolian language i mean), but i do plan to get better at some point, so my info might be a bit untrue, but id say its pretty accurate.
Movies are actually a really great way of learning a language. Like learning Japanese using Anime is such a popular method so long as you know the basics of grammar structure, slang and a bit of culture.

Congrats to the Native man for keeping his language. I’m Northern Cheyenne. Our language is also starting to make a rebound. However most who speak it are 70+ years old and even they say a lot of it is lost.
Please do not let the wanderful Cheyenne language die! And by the way, teaching a language in classes is not the way to preserve it. Do not put your language-revitalization hope on that, it just doesn't work that way. Only meaningful real-life communication with native speakers can do the trick, plus the "learner" has to be a child. Therefore, since almost all of the native speakers of Cheyenne are elders, I'd humbly recommend to every Cheyenne person who doesn't speak the language him- or herself let their child/children stay with their grandmums and granddads as mush as possible and at the younger age possible (ideally, there should be kindergardens with native staff and strict "no English there" rule). In case parents can speak Cheyenne themselves - bingo! Just talk full-time Cheyenne with your child at home, no English whatsoever. That'll do the magic. And ONLY that. Look at the hot Flemmish girl from the video - she can perfectly speak both languages of her parents just out of home talks. Cheyennes and all other Native Americans should do exactly the same. Remember, Elders are going away, and there won't be any second try... Please, don't get offended if I've said something rude. English is not my mother tongue, and I just really care about Native American languages, especially of the Great Plains region. Best regards from Russia.
and he said he had a DEGREE. if that's true, whoever gave him this degree should take it away. his grammar is terrible, his vocabulary is straight out of an idiotic action movie with Russian mafia as the main villain
That Flemish and Dutch was fun! I immediately know when there is a language that I can’t pinpoint to a country only to a family of languages like the Balkan, Slavic, African or specific south east Asia region. You must have a really good ear to distinguish like French, Quebec French or other creole French from Africa for instance. I know I can’t set Romanian, Estonian, Latvian, Hungarian or Ukrainian apart and the difference between all the Arabic versions is also difficult
For starters Flemish is a Dutch dialect therefor they will understand each other easily. When the Flemish did say Alee that is something a Dutch will never use. For the rest the G and R are more pronounced between Dutch and Flemish.
I can't believe someone could go through all the trouble to get a university degree in a foreign language, and still have zero respect for the people and culture. He presented the language in the most prejudiced and offensive way I can imagine. It was mind boggling.

What she said to the man at the end translates into "I love you are" (feminine, singular) which makes absolutely no sense. The guy speaking "Russian" was downright disrespectful. Butchering other people's languages is not cool.
Huh? Which part means “are”? Et? That doesn’t mean anything, it’s just a preposition (with no English translation) that’s usually put before a word that begins with “ha” (the) like “hee (she) achla (ate) et hatapuach (the apple) among other things…

Well the Russian he was speaking was deranged, grammatically horrible, and he was doing an offensive mockery of how Americans think Russian people talk. Of course he played into the worst stereotypes of that culture and that's why someone would imagine a stereotypical "tall Russian villain" was yelling angrily at them.
The Hebrew speaking person literally didn’t actually know how to speak Hebrew. She told the guy completely wrong how to say I love you 😭 I hope he doesn’t use that advice on an actual Hebrew speaker
He said that Russia people curse really bad and thats not really true. Among the young people we say a word whose meaning is close to “shit”. When you go away from that there is really not a lot of cursing. He wasn’t talking right and i really did not understand a word other than “привет” that was a really poor representation of Russian language.
lol i wish they could put an afrikaans, flemish and dutch person in a room and see if they could have a full conversation. of course flemish and dutch would understand each other a lot more, but the afrikaans person would also be a nice touch. this was so damn interesting watching as an afrikaans person, bc afrikaans has a lot of dutch features, BUT doesn't roll the r's like americans. it was so cool seeing how the flemish chick said "lelik" (ugly). tysm for reading this "useless" comment :D
Funny thing is, both of them have a pretty thick accent. Accentless Dutch is rougher than both and is less melodic. You guys should put an actual Dutch person there, because it sounds very different from those two accents.
Is it? I'm mongolian. And the language itself is quite harsh or kinda. I'm not sure how to explain. But i've heard many people say it sounds lie German language.

I'm getting duolingo now, gonna start learning cantonese as I'm gonna be living in Hong Kong again for at least 6 months 🇭🇰
don't forget the interaction with the tall white guy - "what's the difference between a white person and a horse?" "I don't know man, it's very subtle."
I was scouting to find one of these videos that have hebrew in it, and I'm severely disappointed.. She didn't have a native or even close to native accent, and she said I love you with a feminine you, in Hebrew there's a difference and it's sad she didn't know that.

Hindi uses more Sanskrit words whereas Urdu more perso-arabic but the difference is subtle and words can be used interchangeable. Notably Urdu/Hindi are together called "Hindustani", lingua franca of Northern India and Pakistan.
