@@ThundermansThunderWRONG. The MAGA cult is farther right, than modern day Democrats are left. Trust me. I used to be a conservative Republican.
I’m Allie’s exact age and cannot emphasize enough how much kidnapping was in the news/culture growing up in the US in the late 90s/early 00s. I could only ride my bike 3 houses down both ways. It was very scary and traumatic! Great point you added about how simple life is for many children and how weak that is as a core argument for conservatism.
You could escape kidnapping by staying home. When we were young we knew we could not escape nuclear war. That the world’s leaders did manage to escape it as time went on is not my point. When we were growing up, during the time we were growing up, just children, we did not know and no one could assure us that our lives would not end in a flash.
YUP!!! Amen to this
You and allie are the same age, yikes😬
I am 70, I grew up going to church in LA. We were taught to look inward, to work on being good people. I remember the minister telling us that looking inward, and working at being a better person would keep is busy our whole lives. He didn't say this with blame and call us all sinners.
So the pastor avoided what is clearly in the Bible. Teaching his people what is sin and that we are all sinners in need of a savior. That we need to repent from our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. That pastor did you no favors.
@@ceciliaramos2280
I don't believe people are born in sin. I don't believe in the concept of a wizard in the sky putting a red mark by my name because I ate my brothers burrito.
The concept of believing in reward and punishment is low on the scale of moral development. It is lower than peer pressure. Doing what is right because it is the right thing to do is the mark of higher moral development. To do so requires looking inward, and not expecting a reward or punishment.
I was taught to take responsibility.

It's always so refreshing to hear an American talk abt US Imperialism and acknowledge it's impact.
I am a Christian aka a follower of Jesus and his teachings. It feels like a breath of fresh air to hear others who have not bought into the false doctrine that so many of today’s Republicans and Evangelicals have bought into. I live in the Dallas area of Texas and am keenly aware of the Prestonwood Baptist Church where Allie is speaking. Their head pastor was on Trump’s Christian advisory team. 🙄
Praying for you.. I am from Ky and brought up S Baptist I changed before all this bit have heard a lot from Texas going thru this.
misogynists really cannot be Christians so I take it you attend an egalitarian church? All misogynistic religions are man made and their bibles are seriously mistranslated . They did that to have power and control over women and children and to try and justify it but it's not true scriptures. Without excessively breeding females they cannot have a big strong military. Without their military they cannot have power over anyone or women.
Please show me from the Bible how supporting the murder of children (abortion) is okay. Or how being affirming of sins and sexual deviancy and depravity is ever okay. If you can show me that, I'll believe you care about following Jesus and his teachings. But I'm willing to bet you think Jesus' only teaching was "love everyone" and you have no idea what love actually means bibilically.
@@AJThomas-h2q I think you need to do more study of biblical theology, the Book of Hebrews, and the difference between ceremonial, judicial, and moral laws in the Torah.
@@AJThomas-h2q I'm a gentile. I eat bacon without guilt. Here's chatgpt summary of the AD 50 council where the Early Church Fathers were deciding on rules for gentiles ... The early church council you're referring to is the Council of Jerusalem, which took place around AD 50. The council addressed the question of whether Gentile converts to Christianity needed to follow the Mosaic Law, including circumcision. The conclusions were summarized in a letter sent to Gentile believers, and the key rules they were required to follow included:
Abstain from food sacrificed to idols.
Abstain from blood.
Abstain from the meat of strangled animals.
Abstain from sexual immorality.
These guidelines were intended to help Gentile believers live in harmony with Jewish Christians and maintain a sense of purity in their worship practices.
=== As for Sunday, here's a summary again ===
Yes, early Christians began to worship on Sunday, which they referred to as "the Lord's Day." This practice likely originated because Sunday was the day of Jesus' resurrection. The New Testament records gatherings on the first day of the week (Sunday), and early Christian writings from figures such as Ignatius of Antioch and Justin Martyr confirm that Sunday was set aside for communal worship, breaking of bread (the Eucharist), and preaching. This shift distinguished Christian worship from the Jewish Sabbath, which is observed from Friday evening to Saturday evening.
I'm agnostic. But my upbringing was Southern Baptist and my family is Evangelical now. I really enjoyed this podcast and especially the fact checking. You are a wonderful example of your faith.
When you’re a kid, you see thing’s simplistically. Allie has no idea what the adults were dealing with during her childhood. Who was gay and in the closet etc.
Exactly! People confuse having been a child and not being aware of everything going on (if you were privileged enough to be shielded from harsh realities) with times having been better very regularly. Forgetting that you can’t compare what you experienced as a child, especially if you were protected by adults around you, to what you experience and know about as an adult. It’s a false equivalency.
Yes. Times were so much better when I was naive, protected by my parents and sheltered from the media. They didn't put the news on with kids around and we didn't even have social media distorting everything.
Please. Society was much more moral in general 20-30 years ago. That’s just factual.
@@heyitsme881What things do you think are more immoral in our society today?
Using Full House as an example of wholesome family life is so funny. It’s literally about “chosen family” and three men raising kids together basically in something that looks like a queer platonic relationship/partnership and there are plenty of sexual themes in that show.
Glad I'm not the only one that caught that.
No it doesn’t look like that in any way. Stop
@@MrKingishere1 how does it not look that way
@@bebel0ckur trying to make things sexual when it isn’t. Maybe because that kind of stuff was nonexistent back then. It’s obvious they’re not in a relationship
@@MrKingishere1 I’m not making their relationship sexual. Those are two different points. Have you never watched that show? Pretty much the entire plot line of Jesse up and until he marries Becky is that he’s always getting laid. He even used the babies to pick up women
Our cities were not safer in the 1990s! Insane and ahistorical
@milo-yl5jjSo murdering innocent children in the womb helped reduce crime. You are absolutely insane.🙄
@milo-yl5jjPrecisely! Lead also pays a big role. Regulations on lead paint significantly reduced lead poisoning which is associated with crime
The whole country was not safer in the 50s. Or 60s. Or . . . well, just throw in the rest of that century. Remember the song “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden”? Seems too many who grew up in the last 30-40 years expected a rose garden and are ripping mad because, in their opinion, they don’t have one.
It's the fear and rage porn fox and the rest of the right wing propaganda machine pump out that has people believing things that aren't true.
It's become less safe in recent years
My theory on why some Christians cling to the persecution complex is because they look at the beatitudes and all of them require some kind of effort from them. Being meek and merciful and a peacemaker is hard work when it doesn't come naturally. But there version of being persecuted requires no effort. They don't know real persecution.
Omgoodness thissssssssss
They blame the moral decline of America principally on social progress and cultural diversity. They think we were better off prior to the civil rights movement, when white men held all of the power in our educational, financial and professional institutions.
I watched a video of older ladies who were teenagers in the 1920s. They all talked about how their parents were just appalled at the short hair and raised hems and boys and girls going to college together. Those parents thought it was the end of decent society.
Yes! Nowadays, if a woman has short hair, conservatives claim she's a lesbian or trans! When lots of, perhaps most, women had short hair in 20s and again in the 50s. Conservatives are ignorant of history. The ancient Greeks complained that society was collapsing before Christ was born!
Hindsight is 20/20.
moral panic is as old as time.
The emotional manipulation and grift just keeps getting worse.
Evangelicals think that If their kids know that some people are gay, their evangelical kids will choose gay too. They think that just the idea can turn you LGBTQ.
Funny then how many millions more children these days are supposedly being 'born gay' when all that's changed between generations is the way that we talk about it. If homosexuality leads souls to hell (as it does and anyone who suggests otherwise forfeits the right to be called Christ's children) then we'd better make sure that the conversation surrounding it reflects this reality, unless we want millions more being 'born gay' even than we have now. In the old days, most people who identified as LGB could have direct abuse or assault tied back to their childhood or adolescence. Now people just go to school like normal people and come home gay. What if there are ideas that are themselves so detestable "abominations" that an impressionable child can be perverted in the same way, you could say 'raped', by merely being led to accept them as reality. Judge the tree by the fruit.
Actually, I believe it's more insidious than even that. They aren't really worried about `their` kids because they have `their` kids under complete control. No, they're worried about `your` kids. It's all about the `battle for the ear of other people's children,` in the overall `war for normalcy.`
What makes it extra silly is that there are plenty of LGBTQ people who grew up in sheltered conservative homes and are able to confirm that this theory isn't true
@@somersetcace1 Yes. I don’t trust them for anything. I agree that’s true too. They want all of society to look and act like them when all all the while they fight amongst each other.
The crazy thing is that straight people would never want all the rejection that gay people encounter for their whole life. It is not something that one just chooses for the fun of it.
I appreciate how you thoughtfully respond to stuff like this without mocking them too hard. You’ve done a lot to inspire me to come back to TH-cam and do some similar content.
I really enjoyed your perspective! The pride, haughtiness and elitism coming from conservative evangelicals is nauseating. Thank you for offering perspectives that challenge their fear based narratives and help us more accurately discern!
And it’s the worst kind of arrogance, the kind the prideful person has no insight into.
I'm in my 50s. Hearing someone glorify the 80s and 90s is laughable.

I really appreciate this video. It’s very refreshing. I’m so tired of the hyper Evangelical cognitive dissonance and gaslighting.
The time period she’s talking about, all the teen boys in my neighborhood were creepers. And myself as a teen? I bought alcohol and cigarettes from stores. We use to throw down hard. Our parents were drunk or not paying attention. This lore for yesteryear is totally twisted.
I had very attentive parents, grew up in WELS and remain a member, and I still got away with all sorts of crap! What were my parents supposed to do, not let me be a kid? They were fantastic parents. If I end up being half the man my father is I’ll consider it a success.
I left the church as soon as I turned 18 and came back to WELS after I married a gal from Missouri Lutheran Synod.

It also scares me that my neurodivergent son has to grow up in a world where people like Allie are not accepting of them. That's huge for me!

There are studies on how people idolize their childhoods. Like people will say baseball has changed, it isn’t what it used to be and no matter their age now, the time they thought baseball was at its best was whatever year they were 12. Basically not realizing it’s them who’ve changed. Life wasn’t better when you were a kid, it’s just simpler for you because you didn’t have adult responsibilities.
Yes, this is the reason everyone thinks the best music comes from whatever decade they were teens/young adults.
I’ve noticed this nostalgia with old times. It’s never been a magical time for People of Color.
For those children in abusive situations, childhood wasn’t amazing

How shocking that a young wealthy white woman can't conceptualize that injustice and crime have been present throughout US history, not to mention the role the country plays in continuing to perpetuate these things. How romantic of her. Thank you for this awesome response!
Because conservatives like allie are all brainwashed and ignorant as fuck
As a European Christian I was in a debate with Allie (and then got blocked) on universal health care. Her in Europe (Belgium) we have affordable health care (not free, but affordable for all) and of course we pay it with taxes (like fully paid maternity leave and all) but you know what? We as christians gladly pay for our health care system because Jesus said to take care of the sick and the vulnerable! I'm happy to pay for my neighbor (love your neighbor as yourself). Because as a christian I can not understand how you want a christian nation (whatever that is) without free or affordable health care, fully paid maternity leave, justice and freedom for all people ect. How is that christian? Or how is it even pro-life? Allie said America was much better and Europe was a hell hole for all of it and blocked me. I STILL don't understand this. Why do so many Americans seem to only think about themselfs?
And how is America ever family focused without universal healthcare? Without fully paid maternity leave for at least 4-6 months? Without fully paid vacation days for everyone (at least 25-30 days a year)? Without good minimum wages? Without an affordable education system? affordable college? A good work-life balance? (my husband and I both work 30 hours (me) and 32 hours (he) a week!) How is that ever family friendly? It's NOT!!!!
I came here from your video on Fundie Fridays. I love their content but it's nice to see videos from someone like me who has also been raised in a similar culture and has come out the other end.
I love the "things were simpler and better when I was a child" argument.
Um......yes? Because you were a child. You were incapable of grasping anything more complicated than "PB&J or tuna fish sandwich for lunch?", and you didn't have to pay your own bills, drive yourself to work, or do your own laundry. Depending on how far back you want to go, you literally didn't even have to wipe your own butt. Nothing is simpler or better than being a toddler in a family with even minimally competent parents.
If the complexities and responsibilities of being an adult are too burdensome for you, then just be a good tradwife and just cook, clean, mind the babies, and stop talking about things in the real world that are too hard for your precious little head to handle.
"Nothing...is better than being a toddler with mi small competent parents"😂😂😂😂😂
I was born in 71. Things were much scarier then than now…. I was born in Camden, NJ. It was rough then.
She’s a fear monger.
As a teacher who has worked in both elementary and middle schools, I can absolutely promise you that students are NOT being exposed to anything remotely close to anything she is claiming at the beginning of the video outside of healthy sex education in middle school (in health class that parents can opt out of, but most parents don't thankfully). 🤦♀️
Yes! Also a public school teacher! I try to tell people this but they don't believe me 😞
Why gaslight now only to later get caught red handed and say, "and that's a good thing"
It's very convenient for someone like Allie that DON'T struggle with infertility to be against IVF. I've never understood that.
Ahhh, the 90s. Where the infamous crip vs. Bloods gang wars never happened.
Or the 80's where the cold war never happened.
Or Crown Heights riots, and all kinds of other stuff.
Does anybody else here notice the correlation between Obama's and Bidon's administrations and the INCREASE in marriage rates? We are on an upward trend right now. I believe this measures the effect of hopefulness.
Apparently she doesn't remember the James Byrd Jr. dragging murder, Matthew Shepard's murder, school shootings began in the 1990s, Amadou Diallo murdered by NYC cops '99, lots of serial killers like Jeffery Dahmer who got away with killing a drugged Asian teen because he was gay, AIDS, the downfall of Ralph Reed, etc. She doesn't know what she's talking about. When I lived in Jax FL in 190-1994 the National guard was called because gangs were shooting motorists on the interstate and one died. I used to listen to Rush and Sean too. In the late 90s Sean had a guest on talking about how poor and POC were being executed while their middle class/wealthier white counterparts were getting life in prison for the same crime in the same county. Illinois put a moratorium on the death penalty to study this further. She is a revisionist.

@@Bani347 because her theology is flawed. She isn’t biblical. She wants to enforce certain rules while not following certain rules herself.
@@BramptonAnglican why she isn't biblical? I've been listening to her for the past 5 years and her theology is really sound, in fact she listens sound preachers like John piper, Paul washer, David platt, Matt chandler and others, she also believes that the wrath of God was absorbed by Jesus on the cross which is the true gospel. she also rebukes false teaching.
maybe you're not agreed with her political views and other stuff but that doesn't mean her theology is flawed
She thought things were simpler when she was a child? Well I for one am completely shocked. I mean it's not as if every person thinks things were simpler when they were a child. 🙄
@marcushill Times for my mom growing up were simpler still. It was because they had next to nothing. Kids today! Am I right?
I am so sick of the evangelical Christian persecution complex. I’m 38 and grew up not far from that church (we always called it The Baptodome). I am a secular Jew but my family practiced growing up. I can’t even tell you how much antisemitism we encountered from neighbors and classmates. We had some really awful and frightening experiences and many of them were at the hands of people claiming to be “good Christians.” Maybe the area is more tolerant now than it used to be, but the 90s sure weren’t the “good old days” for anyone who wasn’t white and devout Christian.
Wow wow wow as a Canadian Catholic I had no idea ideas such as these are being promoted!! My second time listening to you thank you
Must be nice up there ❤🍁
7:02 last I checked, *which* party is trying to police, defund, and close libraries? 🤔
Facts don't matter when the goal is provoking reactionary nostalgia.
Excellent video. The reality is that the Evangelical right is at war with modernity. The reality is, that as you have pointed out the stagnant wage rates and increased work means the system is not doing as well as it has done in the past. This leads to a sense of grievance which can be utilized by the right
Fear mongering and idealizing the past is their go to move, and sadly it convinces a lot of people. The battle she refers to is a battle for power. If her conservative values are not popular, or she is criticized for those values AT ALL, she defines that as persecution.
And they call us snowflakes 😭😹
Allie is one of the biggest snowflakes around. She blocked me, and all I did was agree with someone who disagreed with her.
I cannot listen to her for more than a few minutes. If she pops up and has a topic I want to hear I will click and comment. She is like Candace Owens, Charlie Kirk Matt Walsh and Tucker Carlson. Pushing false narratives to make a buck. 😡
Canadian here, but I follow mostly American podcasts. What I don't understand is how I can be blasted one moment for a comment on say, protecting women's sports, for which I'm a transphobic, right wing terf. Then I might disagree on an aspect of Harrison Butker's speech and once again I am a feminist, but now presumably extreme leftist? Are their really only extremists these days? I don't understand these strictly far right or far left clones that keep popping up?
Apparently I swing both ways, lol, depending on the topic. What's up with that? Are there no teams in the middle?
@@laurykristensen6239 I am definitely team middle. Every issue has gray areas or at least we should see them as gray areas.. Seeing things in black-and-white is not really helpful. The people I listed do you speak some truth sometimes, but too many people believe everything they say, and that spreads fear and hate. I found it Distasteful and unchristian to want to make money spreading lies. I think trans women who want to compete in sports should be looked at in an individual basis. One of their complaints is based on the fact that gay people aren't expected to hide like they used to, so she more like resenting that gay people are seen as normal now, which is against her bigotry.
I remember my Mom listening to Rush when a caller politely offered a counter point. He hung up and acted like a tough guy for not letting someone push him around. Totally played victim because his believes had been challenged. Wish I called it out more then. My Mom is so far down the rabbit hole now.
Rewatching the original Night Court. Season 3 had an episode with a Trans character. Dan had to come to terms with an old high school friend who got a "sex change". Not new to even talk about it publicly. Although obviously not like today because it was earlier in the conversation.

It's easy to romance one's glorious past. But here we are today, Allie Beth. Welcome to 2024.
The visual of Stuckey grinning like that and looking onto an empty megachurch just looks……so……odd.
I don't know where Allie grew up, but I'm twice her age and when I was her age we thought that kids born at that time (i.e. Allie's age) had a terribly worse childhood than our own upbringing. I can't believe she's idealizing her era of childhood. In fact, the homeschooling movement started because families were horrified at what the schools had become. In fact, in the year she was born homeschooling nationally became a legal option and took off as a industry. SMH.
Did Allie Beth go into a time warp and get raised in the 1950s? Dude I was a grown up in 1995 and it wasn't like she says.
Another fun fact. Violent crime, and crime in general, decade after decade, at least globally speaking, continues to go down. crime is getting less frequent, not more.
I believe this can be directly tied to secularization .
Why would it have anything to do with secularization?
Fun fact - even the rise of nationalism has nothing to do with Christianity.
We have the exact same problem all over Europe. Also here in Germany and right wing parties get the most votes in the Eastern part of Germany that once was the German Democratic Republic that was part of the Eastern block countries. Most people there aren't Christians. In Germany right-wing ideology is more connected to neo paganism if it's connected to any faith system at all.
Less religion doesn't make the world a better place as people will still be people. They will always find reasons to hate or even kill each other. A large part of the problem is in-group/out-group thinking. Religion can be a part of that or it can connect people (as it should).
There is most of the time no singular cause for the issues humanity has to deal with.
She's slyly referring to drag queens who sometimes read children's books to children at libraries as part of Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH). DQSH is a program that aims to promote reading and diversity by hosting events in public spaces like libraries, schools, and community centers. The events are usually geared towards children ages 3-11, and often feature drag queens reading stories and participating in other learning activities. These are not sexual in nature.
Yes! Children are under attack. Imagine being gunned down by a lunatic in school. Imagine being a 10 year old girl who was assaulted and being forced to carry a pregnancy to term and give birth. Yes! Kids are in danger here in America. The land of the free!
Say it louder for those in the back!!! One of my kids is terrified there’s going to be a school shooting at her school. Her principal couldn’t even acknowledge the legitimacy of her fear and instead chose to gaslight her…”Oh, our school is so safe…Officer blah blah is great…and your mom wouldn’t send you to school if she didn’t feel you were safe!” I told the principal never to speak for me again, and that I do not believe mine or anyone’s children are safe at school In this country! 🤦🏽♀️

You are a great communicator.
We have crawled out of Plato's cave and have seen the true light of day. But there are those who want to lead us back into the cave and self delusion. They love darkness and hate the light. Can't put an omelette back into the shell.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Tim, for standing up for those of us who are on the receiving end of the hatred and vitriol of the Christian right. Amid our own daily struggles of just trying to live life, we often feel paralyzed against trying to combat their lies, fear mongering, and demonization of us as queer or marginalized or minority people groups. It doesn't seem like what Jesus would do. As a "Side B" gay Christian, I can tell you that I, and most if not all in that community, will never understand how we, while trying to live within what is believed (and the Christian right believes, for that matter) to be Biblical sexual boundaries...we are demonized by the Christian right, while they deify someone like Trump. BTW, great podcast on Rosaria Butterfield. Kudos to you and Matthew. I'm sorry, Rosaria, but when you tell me that your God is someone who has created billions and billions of people throughout the eons of time and predestined them to incalculable suffering and torture in hell, for all eternity...just to "show His Glory"... well at that point Rosaria, you have lost ANY moral authority to speak to me, or ANYONE about ANYTHING.

I’m thinking that the library comment might be related to drag story hours, which no one is forced to attend and have recently been cancelled (Lancaster, PA) due to threats of violence. Proof of how incredibly dangerous Stuckey’s language is
I was just talking to my husband about the overt misogyny prevalent in the 90s when we were in college. My 25 year old son is learning how things were. And he’s perplexed and disgusted. My husband and I agree. It’s how it was. We knew it was wrong but…. Now it’s so much better. My son’s generation is filled with strength and determination. We Gen Xers did something right.
29 years ago I was a chauvinistic rather backwards dude. After these last 29 years my wife has actually turned me into a hippie like my parents.
Her hubris is always shocking but actually never surprising 😂 I would really love to see her in conversation with you Tim - I don’t think she’d ever do it but I really believe it would be a good experience for her !
Shes like 45. The grift keeps on grifting.
I am not a Christian, but I really enjoy your content. I was in my early 20s in the early 90s. Romanticizing that era as some bastion of purity and good will among people is ridiculous. Thinking things were all gauzy and beautiful in any past era is simply looking through rose colored glasses.
I'm 4 years older than Allie, and I really don't remember anything she's talking about in the 90s. I suppose she had a very privileged upbringing.
Times were pretty good for our age group then though.
I appreciate you so much!!!!
It's so refreshing to hear you speak truth to counter the uninformed biased crap that she speaks.
Allie does not or can not allow herself to deeply think about the past. In the past she longs for she would not be able to have the platform she currently does. Obviously the technology is very different, but most importantly women were not allowed to have a strong voice in many spaces. I was a child of the 70s and 80s and a young adult in the 90s. I understood that girls and woman did no have the same powers as men. Of course there were women who did but it was criticized.
On the immigration issue ... the USA and Soviet Union fought proxy wars in Central America for decades, destabilizing those countries with long -lasting effects. Also, USA demand for drugs pumped money into drug gangs and cartels all over Latin America and their competition leaves little room for civilian well -being.
The chickens have come home to roost.
Practicing Catholic lesbian in love with Pope Francis and my church who by happen stance (Holy Spirit) came upon this podcast. Love it!
WHYYYYYY??????!!!! 🤯
I would rather get a box seat ticket with backstage pass in London to see Taylor Swift for $5k (and I’m not even a Swiftie!) then to see ABS🤮
This is a great highly religious youtube channel. Good job. Keep the faith.
I lived through the times she says were “nothing like what we face today.” She’s right. They were worse. Start with a weekly income that would make today’s young people-those under 49-vomit, after they screamed. Continue with no health insurance, father dead because there was no money for medicine. School was free. But the good stuff, the sports, the after-school music, band, art, that had fees so that was out. Stopped one of my interests when a fee of 25 cents a week was imposed. Yet we were considered middle class, the suburb where we lived said so. We lived daily with the very real threat of nuclear war. Watched the fallout shelters go up, usually on one of the ends of the house. Then they killed our leaders. In front of us. Four times. Much, much more was nothing like today, but I’ll stop there. Sleeping during history class was she? Or did her parents raise her as a princess who was certain that all that went before her was beneath her?
Every migrant I've ever known has worked harder than anyone born in America I've known. They have also been willing to do whatever needs doing, the crappiest jobs and never complaining. I was born in the 50s, my father was a teacher and coach and my mother was a full time secretary and we were lower middle class. I never want to go back to any time from the past (well, except for maybe to revive the rock n roll of the 60s).
Every era has had it's misery and it's grace. We need to focus on now. Instead of going back, lets move forward and instead of working harder, let's work smarter and Stop fear mongering from people like this woman, Trump, Maga and the fundamentalists.
I really appreciate your breakdown of this!
I looked for your channel after seeing you and Sarah on Fundie Fridays. I'm not Christian, but I appreciate your thoughtfulness, insightfulness and honesty. I love critical thinking! Yes, the "old days" seem better and simpler due to you being a child, so you were shielded by the adults in your life from complications and dangers, and you saw the world as...a child. I suspect Ally saw a Pride Month poster in a library once and interprets that as being "force-feed". See Pride poster for "indoctrination" as well.
GREAT podcast and I'm an ex-Christian!
26:02. Enemy here 👋
I asked a question on a video of hers and was blocked, deleted and silenced on YT. It was within minutes of posting, so I think she has a strong team of moderators. Anyhoo, to answer the question who is slinging arrows at her? That would be anyone commenting on social media who dares to question her opinion or ask for a source.
There’s very little I would drop $5k on. A custom shop guitar. A trip to Germany. To see 4 people speak and say things I can get for free on their podcasts? In Texas? No thank you! Especially the nonsense they’re know for.
Tim's convincing me how glad I am to be an evangelical .
Whatever, I’m definitely going to Share the Arrows. I love Allie🥰
American persecution complex!! Yes! That’s EXACTLY what it is. I literally grew up having to read Voice of the Martyrs as a devotional with my family and being asked “if someone pointed a gun at your head and asked if you were a Christian.. would you say yes?!!” (I was in elementary school!!!!)
🤦🏼♀️
Also, I was in a Bible study and an older women literally said that if she sees a gay couple in the show/movie she’s watching, she turns it off and refuses to watch it anymore 😳
Reminds me of the 80s when Amy Grant was a Christian singer and charging $35 per ticket (you could see Styx for $35), for an evangelical event. Sweet Comfort, on the other hand (I organized a concert with them at my high school auditorium), had a free will offering.
I am SO glad to have found your content. My jaw dropped when you got to the prices at the end!!!! That is just WACK!!!!
I think you hit the nail on the head when you stated that Ali believes America is her Christian Nation. That that was God's intention this is what they truly believe and it is sick
Last time I attended a “Christian Event” my partner and I were called every cuss word known to man. Maybe they could make a ten thousand dollar price if you want Christians to treat you to continuous cussing and belittlement.
Wow, my first time listening to this channel. Allie Beth Stuckey is really wrong on a lot of stuff mentioned in this video, and her trailer is pretty creepy actually.
Also, the guy on this channel is wrong about a ton of stuff in this video. I'm the only one here that's always right, tbh. 😆😉
Trump is an awful man, and I'm embarrassed Christians made him such a figurehead and defend him so much (versus. for instance, voting for him with apologies and as a necessaey evil in this ridiculous 2-party system). It's also probably true his current charges/convictions *are* BS from the deep state or something. Dumb move, might backfire on them, because too many centrists suspect this is BS.
We Christians need to get our heads out of our asses and stop pretending that politics of either side are the answer. We can use politics as a tool, but let's stop letting the Tools use us. Biden is Trump's fault. Trump is Obama's fault. Obama is Bush's fault. Bush is Clinton's fault. Etc. And the real fault lies with the cheerleaders on each side, allowing ourselves to be continually polarized, blind to nuance. I'm not saying dont prefer a side. I tend to vote one way too. But really? Really? In a 2-party system, your side or my side is correct about every single issue in this complex, broken world, and the other side is 100% wrong? Really? Come on, man! That doesnt even make sense.
She's referencing drag queen story hour in the libraries 7:25
I wish i could go to a ❤drag queen story hour❤, but my state threatened library funding if the events occurred😢
@_Niddy_ exactly! It is an optional event that includes all the best practices for reading and engaging children in the childrens book, and it is a family activity, so parents and guardians are there too. There are regular story hours where one of the childrens librarians will read, but people protest the drag queen story hour as if the kids and adults are forced to be there. It is very confusing.
I love how Allie uses off brand Inception music at the end lol
Never thought I'd see the day when people would be nostalgic for the Clinton years.
i would love to see allie talk to someone like you with actual critical thinking skills , the things she has said truly break my brain and the comments on her videos are abhorrent to say the least. i know she’s a propaganda machine but at least for her viewers to see and listen to someone like you outside of their bubble.
Also there’s the hilarious flex and low jab at Disney with the quote “Want to go back to when things were simpler” and shows a pic of a family at the Swan and dolphin at WDW 😂
Gotta love misquote that just helped her cause: "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and courage" uhhhhh.....
It's "Power and love and a sound mind"
The 80s and 90s were wild!
GOD BLESS YOU.❤❤❤❤
$5k?! (clutching my pearls) ABS makes those front row/snake pit Metallica tickets I’ve been eyeing look like a real bargain! Come on, Tim, she’s just doing her patriotic capitalist duty to stimulate the economy…
🤦♀️🤷♀️
what ever happened to "riches in heaven"? oh that's right, the sermon on the mount is too woke.
I’m in the Dallas area and I’m shocked at the price. The church it’s being held at is I believe where my seminary graduation was held and having worked for them full time I know they aren’t excessively spending for things like that. It’s also a surprise just b/c I feel like Robert Jeffries church is more political and in the same area.
