I prefer the Editor's Cut, but SM3 doesn't deserve the hate it's gotten. I'm glad it's been appreciated over time. Even I used to hop on the hate bandwagon, but being away from toxic influences, I can admit I've always loved it, despite some of its flaws. Still one of the best superhero films out there and better than a majority of the MCU in my book (though I love most of those as well). Happy 16th Anniversary, Spider-Man 3. ❤
Well it was Sony who screwed up the movie because Sam Raimi he wanted to focus more on the Marko story arc (Sandman) along with Harry’s story arc but instead he got pushed around by putting in Venom which was a huge mistake

I will never understand the criticism towards this movie. It has some flaws here and there but it’s countless times better than other comic book flicks that came after. Also, Sandman is one of the most intriguing and compelling characters of the whole trilogy. This is a movie that actually FEELS like a typical Spider-Man adventure!
It did more than it needed to. The plot with Harry and Marko was enough. Everything else relating to Eddie, Gwen and revisiting the death of Uncle Ben especially was unnecessary. Beyond the nostalgia and effects (which admittedly look better than most CGI today) there were many inherent flaws with this film. In the words of Raimi, it tied to out spectacle the first two instead of focusing on the smaller character dynamics.
@@CYB3R2K the symbiote could have been done for 3 and save Venom for 4. Venom was shoehorned by the request of Arad even though Raimi wasn’t a huge fan of the character. In hindsight, the symbiote and Eddie could have been cut entirely and the movie probably would have been better, since all the characters remaining would be the ones Raimi is most familiar with.
The stuff with flint Marko was the highlight and yes, I'm including that deleted scenes especially the flint Marko's part. Man this movie could've been one of the most emotional Spiderman films to date if sony didn't interfere the project but even without the deleted sandman scenes it was really good.
no matter the flaws this movie has, i ignore it because this is the movie i would watch every day when i was just a little boy. whether i was watching it at my house while my parents were arguing or at my aunts house while she would take care of me while my parents were at work, this will forever be my favorite most memorable movie ever.

The fact that we get not one, not two, but THREE threats established in the first 10 minutes of this film show the level Raimi was operating at back then.
