You are correct in your chords as they are relative to the capo. The song is played in dropped D tuning so the top E string is tuned to your open D. So the 5th fret chord(relative to the capo) is a G chord(relative to the capo.
I'm sorry the chords on the bottom are D, Dmajor7, and D7(relative to the capo) played along with the open Dropped D at the top string. Strum the whole thing and let the low bottom D ring.
Don't faximile someone else's song. Play it and sing it like it's your own lived experience. Stop looking at the camera as if you're recording it, play the song from that lived experience and let the camera capture the moment. Nice voice and well played and the critique I gave should only inspire you to push a little deeper, it should not anger you in any way. Well done and I'm a Lamontagne fan as well so our tastes are aligned.
I'm looking at the computer screen at the lyrics FYI. Appreciate your feedback.and compliments. Would love to hear your rendition, but I see that you don't play any music , from what I see on your channel. I love it when non musicians are critics. And FYI, your words don't anger me.
@@joemarquis9506 Your response tells me you are angry at my words but OK. I play guitar with Guitars for Vets and I perform at open mics. I've played guitar for over 30 years now and I teach. I fingerpick and hybrid pick and if you'd like, we can talk theory all day. I've also written five of my own songs and tons that just won't finnish, I just haven't recorded any of them. I really should though. PTSD gets in the way of most of that which is why I play with Guitars for Vets. If You really take a good look you'll see I don't do anything with my TH-cam channel. I too still have to read and that's a hard habit to break. Some of my favorite LaMontagne songs are God Willin and the Creek Don't Rise and For the Summer and I get into them like I'm the one on the mountain and the one coming back home. I liked your rendition and wanted to gentle push you a little harder without blowin smoke up your skirt. Being blunt open and honest isn't for everyone, I guess and you damn well know my critique of this performance was spot on. If you can't handle a simple critique of you in your bedroom, you definitely can't handle a stage. Really sorry to have bothered you and it won't happen again. Later dude.
Very nice
I love this song…….and figured out the chords a few days ago.

Nice Joe.
Excellent playing my friend ...see if I have your chords right...D, A, Dm, something on the 5th, Em, A? Close?

the chord you have to watch out for is the em chord. be careful not to hit the top E string or it won't sound correct.
I'm sorry the chords on the bottom are D, Dmajor7, and D7(relative to the capo) played along with the open Dropped D at the top string. Strum the whole thing and let the low bottom D ring.
No Dm
BRO WHY AREN'T YOU ON THE RADIO
