thanks for watching. The 18-105 has an internal zoom so it doesn't really throw the balance off, making it perfect for a gimbal especially with the constant aperture.
Just new to videography...I am amazed by the quality of your video, so clean...without jitters. How did you do that? Mine is A6500 and I get jitters in 4k specially when in pan mode. Do you have any recommendations?
Hey thanks for watching. These shots were all done on a gimbal. However when shooting handheld eventually you get used to finding ways to stablized the camera. Shooting in 60/120p definitely helps. I also have a battery grip on the a6400 that gives it a little more weight and makes it easier to hold steady. Lastly I utilize things like the camera strap around the neck to keep things steady. Hope that helps.
How did you balance this on the weebill lab ? I’ve had no luck , it’s all the way back on the quick release plate and it’s still too front heavy! Is there any chance you could do a video of your setup and balance ?
Hi. It definitely had to be all the way back. But with a little tweaking, eventually it will balance. I don't have this lens anymore so I can't do a video. Also the newer versions of the weebill have much stronger motors that can handle more front heavy setups.
Yes you can turn OSS off. And I think you're asking if the OSS will compliment the gimbal. There are different schools of thought on this, but I leave it on. And it was on for the shots in this video. The reason some people leave it off is that sometimes when on a gimbal the built in stabilaztion can cause a weird effect, but I have no issues with that on this setup. Hope that helps.
I've never used the 16-50 that comes as part of the kit. I do know it's really capable lens. If we can get Sony or a vendor to send it over I'll gladly do a review and test on it lol.
Thanks for watching. This was actually shot in S-Log2 which I rarely use. HLG2 is usually my go to profile. It was edited and graded using Final Cut Pro, using the color boards, wheels and some LUTs.
I loved this lens when I had it. I never used the 24-105 on the 6400, so I can truly speak to that. But u can see my in depth review on the 18-105 here: The Most Versatile Sony APSC Lens | Sony 18-105 F4 G OSS Review th-cam.com/video/nh-TKBSoOrQ/w-d-xo.html
How do you get such a polished look on this video as well as your other vids. I have been trying everything I can think. Do shoot with a picture profile on?
First off, thanks for the compliment. I'm still trying to get better at color grading. But to answer your question directly, yes I do use a pciture profile. In this video I was actually using S-log 2, but I'm usually using HLG. Also in this video I made sure to dial in my white balance as well.
For traveling I would say the 18-105 just because it's a more versatile focal range. The benefit of the Tamron would be better low light performance. But presuming that most of the stuff you'll be shooting will be during the day, I would say the 18-105 should be good.
thanks. I don't think I have any secrets lol. The only thing I'd say that would be a little different is I was using an ND filter for the brighter shots, but that was a budget Gobe filter. And then although this was 1080p footage I uploaded it to youtube as 3840 x 1920. I do that to get a wider aspect ratio. However some people tend to think that TH-cam compresses the video less if you upload in 4K. So maybe that's what you're seeing.
so smooth and stable
nice bro
Thanks!
Nice footage! Very neat!
Thank you 😊
Great video! Question: how do you balance this lens on your Weebill? Do you balance it with lens extended halfway or do you re-balance each shot?
thanks for watching. The 18-105 has an internal zoom so it doesn't really throw the balance off, making it perfect for a gimbal especially with the constant aperture.

@@CreativeTechLab thanks for the response..I will try that.
Nice video! What program did you use for making this video?
I edit in Final Cut Pro
really well done.. Atlanta has changed a lot since I was there last..
Thanks Gilbert! Yeah Atlanta is always changing. Everyday there's a new buildning going up.
really nice, what video settings do you recomand to be able to slow down the footage like this? 1080 60/120 FPS? Thank you
This video was shot at 120p with a 250 shutter (except for the drone shots). Then slowed down in post.
Awesome video👏
Thanks 😊.

Planning on buying this lens! Quick question
Do you have an option to off the OSS on the lens? Does it compliment the gimbal?

Do make a video about using the 16-50 mm lens..as many of us don't have the 18-105 or 18-135... please 🙏

Awesome video! What picture profile did you use and did you color grade? Thanks!

Would you still get that lens today or get the 24-105 for the 6400

@@CreativeTechLab the 6400 not having in body stability is making me debate switching to a 6700 or something else
Great video 📷👏
Thanks 🙏🏽
@@CreativeTechLab No problem :)

@@CreativeTechLab ok thanks for the response. I'm going to give it a go with using picture profile and see if that helps me.
ı have Sony A6400, do you suggest 18-105 or Tamron 17-28 ? which is the best for traveling ?

This video is usually sharp and clean compared to other cinematic s using this lens? What’s your secret?
