    GG 👀,
    Great presentation today! Did you memorize all 2 billion CV combinations or are you really just a nut who loves trains (a real lot like me)?😊 Keep pushing those 1234 pistons brother and keep up the great work! Now, if you don't mind, I got a model or two to install sound into again. Have a good day Training! Thanx Thom...

    very nice George.. very informative.. I have a couple videos out on a big boy I have that will not run any more, but all the functions work.. try to move it and the head light flashes. Do you know what Is wrong with it and if I just change the decoder, will that fix the problem?

    George, pretty good explanation of all this but without my layout being operational I'm afraid it is just too confusing for me. I'm going to have to have it working to see what you mean.
    I'll be occasionally be using pairs of AS-16's, FA-2's and BL-2's with a steam pusher up my grade. How will they both respond to commands? The diesels will be permanently coupled/matched but the helper will be coupled/operated just up the grade.

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All of these locos are following the DCC commands, so if you consist them together with the steam loco, then proximity to the steam loco is irrelevant for the DCC command. If you want to assign separate operator to run those as pushers, then again, it’s just the DCC commands. Should be just fine. If you want, I ran a decent sized train with a pusher here: th-cam.com/video/lrH9EX9kFFs/w-d-xo.html

      @@SoundtraxxDCC Thanks, George. Pretty nice engines and layout. OK, need to show my lack of understanding here again. Say I have the pair of BL-2's on the head end and my 2-6-6-2 pusher all under the single throttle operation. When the horn is selected for the diesels will the pusher also blow the whistle?

    Hey George are you familiar with the CSX 8888 runaway? I am wondering if setting up the dynamic braking on 8888, if I should set the prime mover to go to notch 8 on the dynamics?

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I was not aware of this, but I just read up. According to the Wiki page, the engine never engaged the dynamic brakes fully, and the engine ran at Notch 8 without the DB applied. This could be done with F10, Straight to 8, which overrides the notching to run 8. This could then be used to simulate the actual event rather than the dynamic brakes. If you need further discussion on how to recreate this, contact us: support@soundtraxx.com or (970)259-0690 ext.22

    • @PantherLineProductionsofOhio
      @PantherLineProductionsofOhio 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct and I am aware, but my question was moreso regarding the dynamic brake on this unit, not necessarily the runaway itself. On the real 8888, there was a selector to activate the dynamic brake and once it was set to dynamic braking, the trottle became a brake handle. The higher the notch the more braking power you got from the dynamics.

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PantherLineProductionsofOhio Yes this is why we have the F4, four button press to simulate low and high.

    well george when an air hose comes uncoupled for whatever reason the whole train automatically goes into an emergency. all the brakes will fully apply.

    • @Eduardomd54
      @Eduardomd54 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes , all the train will loose pressure an the brakes will apply. The pressure in the locomotive gauges will drop, and of course, the engineer will will also feel, and also start applying the independent brake. (Of the locomotive or locomotives)

    Correct me if I’m wrong, but in every example video I’ve seen with Tsunami (steam) decoders the whistles are really.....really bad. Not the whistle recordings themselves but the fact they all sound like they were recorded from a train placed in a spare bedroom or a basketball court. I’m not sure why you guys are chopping off the natural outdoor reverb decay. That’s what our ears expect to hear. That’s my only gripe. Really Impressed with your products otherwise.

    • @SoundtraxxDCC
      @SoundtraxxDCC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are not getting rid of any reverb and we actually have CVs that will allow you to add more reverb and echo. We have a few videos on this, but maybe the problem is the device you are listening through. Have you heard any of our products in person?

    I really wish some of the horn sounds werent recycled from TSU1 like the K5LA,RS3L and others I was personally really disappointed when I heard them make an appearance on TSU2...... TSU2 steam on the other hand has been phenomenal.

    • @SoundtraxxDCC

      The horns were all remastered for better bit depth and audio quality. However, many of these were remastered from the original source recordings that we have collected over the years. So they may sound similar, but all of the files were readdressed for the Tsunami2 and new files added.
