  • It can do some skids! Kudos to Turbo Racing for trying.
    The car is provided by RadioMaster. Link here: radiomasterrc.myshopify.com/p...
    I'm not sure if they know that my channel is almost exclusively doing micro drift cars and what they are getting themselves into. But many kudos for being brave enough to send this car to me.

    I appreciate the honesty. I have the 1st gen drifter and could never get it to drift like a 1/27. I hope a hobby grade 1/43 drifter comes out since the crawlers in that scale work well.

    I actually think that even on surfaces that do not allow you to hold the drift, they are still super fun and the quality of finish is pretty good. It is fun to try to run them fast, because you end up with lots of powerslides. It is like a hillclimb with an overpowered car. 😂

    hard to explain but the turbo racing drift mat makes them glide like butter. without it you really have to play with the gyro and move slow.

      Thanks. I'll try to find out what kind of surface or material it is.
      Does it make the car slide indefinitely like a proper drift car or for a few seconds? The problem I have is that it can do a bit of tail out action for a few seconds then it'll straighten out even if the gyro is already dialed in.
      In my definition, a drift RC has to be able to slide indefinitely until I decide to stop. This one just can't do that no matter the surface.

      I have one and I actually think it works better if you carry more speed. And that is equally true with real cars, you have to have enough speed, otherwise it is more of a powerslide than drift.

      @TR850 You need the power but should only use 20-30% in order to slide. Too much power will make you spin out. Holding the drift is only possible when you have throttle control.

    I just ordered the limited edition version of this C65 car. Its orange car. Have you seen it? It comes with a different new orange transmitter and a 7 channel receiver. The transmitter comes with a big flashlight built in it, that's a very strange thing to add to a transmitter. Id like to know your analysis on that new transmitter.

      That transmitter is the flagship one from Turbo Racing and it's really good. You can also use it with their receivers too.

    I knew it. it would not drift properly. and could not hold a slide. I doubtful at first that this small rc car can't hold a slide becoz of what i saw from previous turbo racing drift rc.

    There are videos for turning hot wheels into drift cars. They are the same scale and relative size as this car. They work well. I wonder if it's the dicast body weight that helps those cars.
    It got me thinking, could this car be improved with weight and a better gyro?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Weight do translate to momentum which these small cars don't have so that helps.
      Other important things are steering angle and the capability of the gyro. It needs a lot of steering angle couple with not twitchy gyro to be able to hold the drift.

    I saw other people having a hard time with it and they turned the gyro down and it was better. I don't have one so I never got to try it

      Turning gyro down helps a bit but the steering angle is not good enough to keep it sideways.

    I wonder why there are a few videos where it does very controlled drifts. Do you think they are completely faked ?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think they faked the drift (although I haven't watched other reviews yet). To my best ability with good surface, this car can do skids for a few seconds before snapping back so with good camera angle & cut it could appear to be drifting.

      Thanks for the comment and I'm glad you like the car. But this is really not for me or I probably expected it to do much better than a bit of skidding before snapping back to straight.

      May I know details of how you tune it? I tried for hours but it doesn’t work for me.
