@@kwaty Absolutely! However, I consider myself very lucky to see such luminaries as Bob Cole, Darren Dutchysen, Bill Hewitt, Rick Jeanneret, Danny Gallivan, and John Madden (to name a few) bring their own unique style of broadcasting to the masses - something many of the younger generations never got to witness.

In my early 20's I worked Security at the studios where there had (at the time) both TSN and Sportsnet on one lot. I remember walking through the hallways and seeing Dutch go back and forth and you could absolutely "feel" his aura as he walked by. The man bent the walls around him with his presence. You know how sometimes people say you can "feel someone enter a room" - yeah, he had that in droves, and you could tell that he was so respected and revered among his colleagues. You'd turn a corner and here comes this absolute tank of a man strolling towards you, so accomplished, so dignified - and you could just tell that he earned every bit of it from us as viewers, and doubly so from his peers/industry. Rest In Power Dutch. You were the heartbeat of that crew and everyone knew it. Condolences to his family.

I feel like we grew up with Dutch. What an amazing character. He was having so much fun at his work. This is quite a shock. He will be missed but not forgotten. ❤

Dutchie coming back for that last run is kinda Gord Donnie like. He gave everyone across Canada another chance to watch the goat do his thing. I really hope he knew how loved he was nationwide by sports fans. He was our Stuart Scott. He was the voice of sports in this country for 30 years. I used to fall asleep to the sportscentre loop every night, so he was kinda my Johnny Carson too. RIP Dutchie. Condolences to his family, friends and coworkers.
