This is the most comprehensive, concise, impartial, efficient review of a running shoe that I have ever seen. Thanks! I have the Cloudmonster v1 and based on your review I will most certainly get the v2 when it comes out. I can't figure out why I am just discovering your channel now. Great job! I subscribed so as make sure I find your channel again!
wow! just discovered your channel..it's amazing! the way you testing and analyze technicality of shoe designing, materiality and usage is very easy to digest for a beginner! nicely done video too! cheers from Indonesia!
Bought them and used them for 1 week at Paris. Paris is massive big and with bad terain, many bad roads anomalies and also many brick roads.I walked inside a week and runned about in total 86.319 steps counts so i believe i had a huge experience with them. For me its the best walking or running shoe by far.I have used many top shoes from almost every brand. But this one its the King . Amazing in every single terain you will not feel a thing under your foot. Great for walking or running - excellent control solid stability. Materials looking very good quality. Even with rain my feet stayed dry. They are not big cause they usually looks big in the videos or photos and surely they are NOT heavy! Everything that you expecting from a running or walking shoe Cloudmonster 2 delivers it to the max.
I use the cloud monster 2 for my daily work, on my feet, standing & walking for long periods of time and I love them. Definitely getting second pair for gym & running…
These are by far my favorite running shoes. Had cloudrunners and X's for the past few years and brooks since high school. These are the best shoes I've owned.
I would appreciate if you gave some insight in to which shoe would be appropriate for daily/casual wear. This one is more of a runner but maybe others in the future.
Considering they are everywhere and impossible to escape the marketing online/in stores, would love to see you review the Hoka Clifton 9's or any other Hokas. I have trust issues now and won't buy a shoe unless I've seen it torn apart on this channel haha
Hey Doc, thanks for this very informative video. As a person who broke his tibia and fibula years ago, I always need to buy shoes with good padding and that provide comfortability. In looking for sneakers just really for walking and standing, would I be fine going with the Cloudmonster 1? Thanks!
I´m a forefoot striker and was thinking about getting the discounted V1, up until your review. My normal running area consists of lots of hills and light trails. I have the Cloudeclipse (which I like but somehow don´t love) and the Cloudstratus 2 (firm but great). Too bad On doesn´t have a 30 days trial period for their shoes.
Are this shoes good for someone with flat feet? I was looking at these ones or the Hoka Gaviota 5, I find myself with foot pain at the end of the day, and I was told because of my flat feet
I’m not a ‘foot doctor’ or podiatrist by any means, however I do work at a specialty running store. If your problem is flat feet (low arches), I would recommend the Hoka Gaviota 5 over the On Cloudmonster 2 because of the built in arch support. The Gaviota’s have an H-frame to provide stability and arch support, as well as a rocker sole. The Cloudmonster’s do still have a mild rocker, however they are primarily a neutral shoe and don’t have any structural arch support. Hopefully this helps.
I tried on the V1's and V2's side by side recently. I wasn't able to test them out much but I had to say no to the V2's because they increased the height of the side of the shoe near the ankle! I felt like if I tried to wear them for even one run, it'd give me a wear injury on the malleolus. I ended up getting a deal on some V1's online, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they do for my slower pace days. After watching your video, however, I'm wondering if they'll even be suitable for a road race... 🤔
