    5:15 I love how some of the "dog" hairs fall out from the force of the water tugging on them lol. I think the water there is a little too sticky or their hair isn't quite slippery/absorbant enough. This simulation is great at a lot of things. Not the best for hair simulations though depending on what you're looking for.

    Recently I was starting to read about soft body sims and was amazed at how complex this problem is. Then I read about how limited those techniques were, like being slooooow, or only one soft body at a time. And then, today you post a video like this. My jaw dropped so hard. I can't wait to see how this is going to be 2 more papers down the line.

    After watching some of your videos i started to pay more attention to details in movies and video games. After watching some animated movies i had a moment of realization that the water in the movie wasn’t real, and that it was instead a simulation that was made by what you show us. It was pretty cool realizing that fact.

    Perhaps they can add in some osmosis that varies depending on viscosity, cloth density, liquid particle size etc to maybe simulate filtration of dirty water.

    That is some nice two way coupling! Water still seems to split into unnaturally small droplets though. I've tried to simulate water, it's extremely difficult to do the cohesion convincingly

    3:24 You can tell that the shadows aren't affected by the liquids light absorption/ color change or that the shadow is pre baked of the cup/not affected by the fluids and only the balls are rendered. Not bashing just pointing out.

      Another cool thing that confirms our hardware thesis.
      Look at the comp time between wet paper and biscuit.
      Wet paper is faster and x10 more complex.
      They are using an i9. Higher single core speed than xeon in the biscuit sim.
      It seems these simulations are not multi core yet.

    I hate when I accidentally make a mess in the kitchen, yet these examples of making a virtual mess push the boundaries of what mankind is capable with the aid of science and creativity. It's like when we switched from analog audio to digital. When it was analog, it was all about getting the best quality, but now with digital we want to lo-fi the sound up a bit so that it sounds more natural/realistic.

    Just FYI as a grammar suggestion, "paper" is one of those words where the singular form sounds better unless you're explicitly referring to multiple pieces of paper. The title would sound more natural as "Is Simulating Wet Paper Possible?".
