Katy perry was more of a suprise to me then Taylor swift was. To me taylor swift almost always still has this emo vibe to her. Even though she may have calmed down on aesthetics just a slight touch. She still has that vibe to her something in my head still screams emo whenever I hear some of her lyrics to her songs. Before she released midnights this year she had a set of songs release right before that was more so pre midnights. Would've could've should've being one of them. There's this dark element to it almost. I don't know there's something about her that can reach to any circle almost. No matter even if your a metal head, emo, you love rap, pop, or country there's just that element for her to reach out to every genre.
I'm not too sure though since some us have also had glam eras and I'm still in my glam rock era. Sometimes eras even combine.
