Looking forward to seeing how you get on with this one. Loving the new set. Feels very classic MTG, not too overly complex, lots of nice powerful cards with some cool abilities. In the best way possible, I feel like I'm playing MTG back in 2003 when I started with Scourge, Mirrodin, Darksteel.
I'm so glad you're looking forward to my video and that you're enjoying the format! I agree that it feels like a classic MTG experience and I'm having a blast playing it too!
When they announced this I was very disappointed at first after BLB and DSK being so interestingly themed but now I agree with you, this set feels very oldschool in the best way.
I understand why everyone hates Inspiring Call but I gotta say in the right situation this card is absolutely bonkers. Had a few trophies in GW where this card did amazing work. It works on defense (so when behind) because you give all your guys (that have counters) indestructible. It's also not that hard to set up, the GW Unicorn thing + Prideful parent already draws you 2 cards + blocks 2 attackers for free. It's a card I only pick up when I have a dedicated +counters deck, but then it's pretty good.
Question, pack 2, pick 4 you passed on an imprisoned in the moon, is that card not good? What’s your reasoning for taking the elemental over the imprisoned? I’m curious and if it’s a mistake I’m making I’d like to avoid it in the future
I'm not an expert in drafting, but here are my thoughts: The deck already has some solid removal spells like Stab, Bake into a Pie, Edict, and Golem. However, it seems to be a bit light on creatures. With that in mind, I think it’s better to prioritize creatures over additional removal spells. Also, Elemental works well with Mischievous Mystic. Regarding Elemental versus Imprisoned, their stats on 17Lands seem quite similar, so I’m not sure Elemental is necessarily the stronger choice. I’d love to hear Nicolai’s thought process on this as well! #clutch
The spell is not really good in draft because it costs three mana, is not on instant speed and gives your opponent a mana source. This is not such a big problem later in the game but in early game, you basically spend a turn doing nothing and ramping your opponent. In commander, the card is busted because it shuts down the commander completely but in limited or constructed, it's really not that good. Especially in Foundation where Blue has better options for dealing with creatures that don't ramp your opponent.
Still trying to wrap my head around when to fire off a board-wipe. Maybe I'm too scared of team pump, but I imagine I would not hold in like you did in game 1. Can you help me on this point using the games from this deck as examples? #Clutch
Could you share your thoughts on why you don't like the erudite wizard when it has the same payoff stipulations as the mischievous mystic? Draw second card per turn?

Wow, that's when I started to play - Mirrodin, Darksteel, Kamigawa. I had Atog-based artifacts affinity deck, still have it somewhere )
Strix lookout has been an absolute house in this set with all the 1/1 flyers and random 1/1s it blocks well & can still get in for dmg & looting
I like watching you pick all the cards to understand how good each card is or isn't.
Same!
Love the Colombia jersey!
Thanks Nicolai as always!
So fun to watch you play Limited. This deck was definitely #clutch!
That panda certainly was a demon on how often it popped up 0.0
#clutch after adjusting the deck

Pack 2, pick 2.. I believe the pick is the surveil wall, not the land.. thats great on BU control.. one of the best cards imo
Oh by the way.. What are you doing with a Colombian jersey?? Thats a nice one!
It came back though

I also know that this card is juiced in Commander but I wonder how it is in Limited?
