The average income in Spain is NOWHERE near €2,600 per month. This is the kind of income for the middle class in big cities. Outside those, it's well below €2000 per month & in many areas around €1500. Only 5 years ago, it was around €1000/month & unemployment is still high, which brings the average down even more...

I think they’re worried about taxes. They say I have to be registered in the company with a U.S. address. Does the DNV protect companies from any issues here if they let their employees work in Spain with the DNV?
With Spain's digital nomad visa, your company must be involved in the process as they will be responsible for either paying into Spain's social security or providing a social security certificate. This can be very complicated for employees trying to relocate to Spain. We've found it's much easier for freelancers. Many applicants change their roles from employee to freelancer to apply for this visa.

Does anyone know if the employer would need to do anything additional to writing a letter of authorisation? I am wondering if paying tax and national insurance may impact them? If it does complicate things for the UK employer, they might be less likely to accept employees working from abroad. Has anyone got any thoughts on this?
Your employer must be involved in the process as they will have to show a Certificate of Coverage for Social Security or agree to cover Spanish social security. Many applicants find it easier to apply as a freelancer/self-employed individual for this reason.
Thank you for confirming
Do we NIE number before applying?
No, after you receive approval you will register for an NIE number (we can help with that!)
Hello. I’m a full time remote employee for a US-based company. Can I still apply? I’m hearing that due to social security issues, Spain requires one to be a freelancer with a company. Is that true?
While it is easier to apply as a freelancer, you can still apply as an employee. You will need to obtain a certificate of coverage from your employer certifying they cover the social security in the US. This is a complicated topic that we definitely recommend speaking to an immigration lawyer about
@@nomadsembassy thanks so much for this info. How does the employer obtain a certificate of coverage in the US? Who generates this certificate?
Where can i apply???
You can apply at a Spanish embassy or consulate in your country of residence or directly in Spain

will I pay taxes to Spain if I get this Visa?
Yes you will become a tax resident in Spain
You only need to prove that you've been a remote worker in general for 1 year. not that you've held the position for 1 year. you only need to show 3 months of work history at a place.
So like one year of remote work experience? If so how do you prove that if it’s basically here say?
@@jrt864 idk lol you have to show them your resume if you don’t have a degree as part of the visa. Can just write “remote” probably next to some roles
@@jrt864 actually i think you need to show contracts that specify the work that you did was remote
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi! You said that it is possible to include in visa application a spouse and children, but can you tell me if it is possible to include unmarried girlfriend?
Yes it is possible! You will have to register as a couple in Spain before submitting your visa application
If your trying to bring your “girlfriend” to a foreign country to live with you why would you not marry her at that point! Modern men are strange!
Can I become a Spanish citizen after obtaining PR through digital nomad visa?
Yes, after 10 years you may apply for citizenship. Please note that Spain does not allow dual citizenship for most countries
Thank you for sharing this information
We're so glad you find it helpful :)
my commnent keeps disappearing
Pakistani people's are able to apply?
Yes, there are no nationality restrictions (except for EU)
Spain`s visa requirements are ridiculous
They are one of the most selective of the digital nomad visas in Europe 🤷♀ Malta has some easier requirements if you're interested 😉
Online states minimjm.wage in spain 1134 euros month. ? Hiw comw they are requesting 2600?. Thats spain for you. Very beurocratic.
For the digital nomad visa, they double the minimum wage to create the minimum income requirement

Can i still go there if my height of techness is just buying something off ebay? 🤣🤣🤣
As long as you meet the income requirements by working remotely you should be good to go :)
I am 48 can i apply ?? If it worked can i apply for permanent residency later on ?
If you are self employed, you are screwed. You need a letter from some kind of boss.
That's not true :) It's actually easier for self-employed individuals to apply for this visa. Check out our article about this particular topic below:

Geez just get a tourist visa that’s way to much
Please note that this is not a tourist visa. It is an immigrant visa for remote workers to fully relocate and live in Spain as residents.
This is great - thank you. Any news on when is this going to be available until?
There is no news of an end date for this visa. We expect it to be around for a while :)
