The scene that caught my attention and get me hooked until today and being bias with One Piece is how Shanks didn't respond to the bandits... It shows how matured Shanks is... And how different One Piece is from any other stories I ever read in my 40 years of life...
I absolutely, positively loved this! Your opinions and thoughts were refreshing and the whole vibe of this video was fun and relaxing! I really hope that you continue with the series and make more videos about your journey! I can’t wait to check out your other content as well! I am newer to fantasy books (but slowly getting obsessed, lol) and you have some great content that is already helping me get more invested in the genre!
I'm so glad! This is such a lovely comment and I'm so happy you enjoyed the video! I love fantasy so hope you find some new favourites and enjoy discovering the genre!
I remember when you commented on Merphy and Merphy commented on your Video and now you support others to stay on the Journey, I love it when everyone supports each other
Biblio Thoughts didn't mention anything about Luffy's emotional intelligence in this video, so you pointing it out before she has the chance to notice it herself seems spoilery to me. Pointing out Luffy's emotional intelligence after volume three in the comments seems too soon. Ps: sad that your comment is the top comment with 29 likes
I see One Piece. I click One Piece. I subscribe for One Piece. Lovely review. That's the funny thing about this story like you said it's so silly and goofy but before you know it you're lulled into a false sense of security. One Piece will gut you. Can't wait for more! 10/10
At this point I’ve watched like 10 booktubers hop onto One Piece, welcome!!! Luffy is my favourite character in anything ever - you’ll love him even more.
I started reading One piece 10 years ago, seeing you experience it for the first time now that I'm 1080 chapters in, made me so jelous, it's very nice to see you excited about it. Just know that you're in for a ride!
So excited to follow another One Piece Journey ❤ I started with Murphy Napier, then How to Train Your Gavin, then TotallyNotMark, and now you!!! 🎉 I can’t wait to see your other vids, too
Ahhh i know i know! I'd been warned before so knew I was saying it wrong but couldn't remember how I was saying it wrong ahaha! Thank you for letting me know!
Oh hell yeah! I love love love One Piece First Timers! Welcome to the Community! I can't wait to go on this Ship with you! What is the most fun is hearing ur theories and thoughts for the future of the story! SUB!
Yup - like the video. I've been wanting to get into manga - but I'm not sure exactly where to start. It's a bit daunting because there's so much out there... I may take a look at the ones you mentioned in order to build up (as your friend suggested). Soooo, if you can provide any more information regarding manga - it would be greatly appreciated. I typically read classics, historical fiction, and fantasy - although I'm getting back into reading after a very long hiatus, so I'm not up to speed with current fantasy. (I mention this just in case it helps with manga recommendations and such). Ok - again, I enjoyed this, and look forward to your next update (next Sunday)! Happy reading!
@BooksAtMidnight Based on your taste I would recommend" Vinland Saga "if u like historical fiction and want a starter manga...brilliant story about the viking era..character writing is 10/10
One of the wonderful things about Oda's writing in One Piece is that he pulls so much from real world events, places, philosophies, and people that it might have everything you're looking for. Idk how he seems to have such encyclopedic knowledge as he generally works 21 hours a day and yet he does. I can't recommend this story any more. A true classic in the making. As far as the length or being overwhelmed by the vast amounts of manga just take it one page at a time. Especially One Piece as it's more about rhe journey than the destination.
2:38 Actually, if you eat a devil fruit, you won't be able to swim, not because he's rubber 5:59 I'm pretty sure it was a map to the grandline tho, or maybe i remember it wrong
I'm not a huge fan of the anime for a few reasons, but the important scenes, they usually nail. I'd recommend sticking with the manga, and when you see a scene you really like, watch that.
Thank you for watching! I'm just discussing them as I go and it gets harder the further into the story I get so will have to see about the spoilers sorry!
Get ready for the journey of a lifetime! Protip- don't watch any One Piece content on your main TH-cam acc. TH-cam will end up recommending videos that have a bunch of spoilers so be careful! Good luck
It's not precisely that Luffy doesn't know what he's doing. I's more that he's the kind of character who moves straightforwardly through a crooked world, really, haha.
great review and my advice is to read at least little bit more than first Volumes for manga to decide if you will continue or not because first volumes are like Chapter 1 of novel ... ofc it is not case for shorter series but ...but it is case for at least Spy x Family, Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man ... and ofc One Piece 😂
Hell yeah another new reader to follow. One of us!!!!! One of us!!!!!! One of us!!!!!!!!!!!! Also it’s Zoro not Zolo. Damn copy right laws, mask of Zoro, and English translations ruin perfectly cool names. Also pay attention to everything. This story at first glance seems like some light hearted children’s story but it’s actually more of a very well thought out and intentional classical epic with social, political, and ethical commentary about real life. Also almost every arc has a specific theme that it focuses on. The Romance Dawn flashback is supposed to show piracy and this story in general are not all fun and games. If you are a pirate you have to put your life on the line to be successful. The scene with Shanks, the bandit, and the pistol sets the tone for the story. The same scene also sets up the moral ambiguity of this story. Pirates are neither villains nor saints. Luffy and Zoro’s first meeting is all about pride in your own ambition and respecting other peoples resolve for their ambition. Orange town is all about what does treasure mean to different people and what gives it value to those people. Fans tend to focus too much on the action and fights of the story without ever paying attention to what is actually being talked about.
@@BiblioThoughts Thanks for the reply. All I ask is don’t give up on this series because it can be very long. But if you push through you will be rewarded with one of the greatest pieces of fiction in modern history.
Oh trust me, it just keeps increasing in terms of enjoyment like that. I don't want to spoil anything, so you should probably not search for it on youtube, but there are others like you reading it and reacting to it. And I would say that the reaction you usually get at some parts later on is everyone laughing uncontrolably, crying, jumping out of their chair out of excitement and yelling things out loud. Also fairly common to see people shake their heads and go "I don't know how Oda does this" (the author). Which probably sounds weird at this point in time. It does have a very slow start. And you will probably think "yeah, I like it, I guess" or something similar to that at this part of the story. There is no doubt in my mind that if you keep this up, you will be looking back at this moment in time and go "I thought I liked it, but this was the moment for me - I can now say without a doubt in my mind that I love One Piece"
oda is hiding the concept of one piece by drawing a goofy characters, but when you look on a big picture, one piece is kind of dark too, plus theres a reason why oda purposely draws cartoon type characters, it's to make the reader laugh, sounds a normal reasoning right? but there's more to it, you will understand it later in the story. he's a damn genius, I hope you enjoy your journey.

I love one piece, the beginning is light hearted but as it goes further the theme gets little dark. Also,Zolo’s name is Zoro.

The one piece.. IS REAL!
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Zoro has 3 earrings, not just randomly, but 3 sword shaped earrings like the 3 swords style he uses in combat.
