America is currently plagued by the hydra-headed evil duo of inflation and recession. The worst part about this recession is that consumers are racking up credit card debt. In December alone, credit card debt went up 36% while rates have doubled in a year. Inflation is so high that consumers are literally taking debt for basic life necessities. Collapse has indeed begun..

The truth is that people are finally waking up to the fact that our systems are breaking down in thousands of different ways all around us. Personally, the financial market seems like the only way to go with a long-term horizon . But if you don't have that time, it's a tough market out and thus you should consider financial advisory.

A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

@jillainenewman1358 If Dr. Wolff is literally 'the only prominent person . . . who actually cares" then we are in the deepest quagmire, and we will never move forward - even one quarter inch. It would not be really useful for me to give you a list of names - of people who also really care - but you know the following already, as do I: some are my neighbors on my street where I live; others are local politicians in my county in New Jersey; other are people are work with in a chapter of DSA; others are college educated teachers at our local community college; and also Ph.D. academicians/activists who care deeply about people. Let me just say that you are ‘incorrect’ but if you are listening to this program, you already know that. Be safe. Be active.

This is why many African peoples for instance still harbor fond feelings for Russia even though it has changed so much. They remember that the USSR helped their liberators while the USA helped their oppressors.

@ and look at the outcomes in those countries. Capitalism has produced more advancements than any other economic model and socialism is just a parasitic ideology that empowers envy. Just about all the industrial, humanitarian and medical advances come from capitalism as the economic model. The eradication of slavery came from it too. Socialism/communism wants to put everyone in servitude, as there’s no other end that could be accomplished when you belong to the state. The same outcome has happened wherever it’s practiced. The experiment has been done and it’s been an abject failure. That’s why you must destroy the system that’s to be socialized, as socialism/communism is otherwise incapable of convincing people to surrender their autonomy.

I have long wondered how Europeans (who happened to be Jewish) thought they could migrate to the Middle East and somehow live peacefully with the devoutly Moslem and strongly tribal Arab peoples. Arabs have not been able to live peacefully with one another, willing to war against one another over which of Mohammed's offspring is the legitimate heir to the prophet's teachings.

May 21, 2011 was the beginning of judgement day on the world - you were WARNED
How was that date derived from the bible? When ye see the fig tree in leaves (modern national Israel) know that summer is nigh.
1948 when that happened was the clue that the end times were near; for the elect of God to search the bible.
1974, the biblical calendar of history was unsealed by GOD, known, published, and carefully studied since.
Modern national of Israel are NOT the chosen people of GOD, only a necessary sign (they lost that blessing PERMANENTLY at the cross in 33AD). They became a proverb and a byword for their corporate disobedience to the law of God. And a warning example for the churches who held the same corporate blessing over the church age.
May 21, 1988 The Holy Spirit left the churches for judgement - Satan was given rule for their destruction.
September 7, 1994 to May 21, 2011 was the 'latter rain' outside of any organized corrupted gospels of the churches. God's elect from peoples, nations, and tongues worldwide were saved. The door to heaven was SHUT on the 17th day of the 2cnd month (underlying hebrew lunar calendar) exactly 7000 years after the selfsame day on the 17th day of the 2cnd month in 4990BC when God SHUT the door to the ark.
Colonialism only has a very, very, minor part in the maps of the middle east. God also promised Abraham that Ishmael would be made a great nation; which also happened spiritually worldwide before the door was shut. Isaac was a picture of God's elect from ancient Israel through the church age; Ishmael was a picture of the gentiles from the latter rain. NOTHING to do with JEWS or muslim ARABS. The churches have purposely been blind to this fact; it was not their job (they were to spread the bible worldwide), NOT to speak of the end times.
GO look up: Ebiblefellowship (timeline) and for questions or archived bible studies.

Richard thank you for this talk and discussion. May I Say that along with other important channels we're not including climate in our descriptions and explanations. When an expert talks of the near term and medium term there is no recognition of what is too rapidly overtaking humanity in terms of life in a quickly heating climate and decaying environment and it's ecosystems. The result is that people 'don't get it' , it doesn't compute. We desperately need to incorporate and weave the story we are telling into our economic updates and near to medium term future. I happen to think co-operative and like structures will be (are) essential together with a deliberative democratic governance system from community level to nation level. Deliberative being the active word. Thanks again for your work and super human patience.

      2. Economic instability - recessions taking place roughly every seven years & people losing their jobs etc.
      3. Monopoly & monopsony power resulting in lack of competition in many fields of business activities and labor markets.

Greetings from New Zealand. We have always known that any US Aid always came with strings attached, unlike other countries.
Your comparison of our situation/handling of our current conflict with that of Gaza has made me realise how terrified Palestinians have been for almost 100 years.
New Zealanders see the divisiveness of our situation and worry where it might lead. Many of us feel unsafe. However there is no risk of the army being used against us. We are at the beginning of a disagreement. If Maori methods of negotiating continue to be used as they have been for almost 200 years, we should avoid descending into violence. At present many non-maori support their stance and walked with Maori on the Hikoi (protest walk). The Hikoi was in 2 parts: one from the north and one from the south covering the country to meet in the centre at Wellington, our capital.

I wanted to have a say about your comment on New Zealand… Australia and New Zealand have very similar history, similar laws and history because of the British colonial past, however unlike Australia they had a treaty. They seemed a lot more progressive than Australia because the haka (tribal dance performed before a sports game) is celebrated not just by Māoris, but by every Kiwis, and it’s something a lot of spectators look forward to when seeing a Kiwi team. In Australia tribal dance by the aboriginals have been criticised a lot especially of late. Aboriginals tribal dance (welcome to country) have been practiced more especially after the Black Lives Matter movement.
The recent racial tensions in New Zealand and Australia have become more frequent ever since Donald Trump gained popularity. He is the poster boy for extreme right wing who fall for the ideology that foreigners are taking their jobs and fear past colonial regimes needing to face the consequences of their rules. The everyday people of Australia and New Zealand are not racist, they have however been persuaded to believe that their rights will be violated by the original people of the land by the media of the extreme right who repeat these scare tactics almost daily. Racism is more visible, and practised more than ever and it is worrisome.
My point here is these effects of Trump isn’t isolated to the USA it is spreading globally especially when you have common news agencies in all countries (Murdoch).

So much is traced to how the land of first peoples was taken by new arrivals who possessed superior weapons. Sharing the land (i.e., the commons) could have fostered peaceful relations. Some effort was made by those of European heritage who had come to embrace the public capture of the economic rent of land to replace other sources of public revenue. There is some history of this that is not taught but is valuable as a lesson for how to create true equality of opportunity.

Crony capitalism practised in America in the last 40 years has kept the Median income of Americans stagnant, while a meritocracy-based political system has made China the largest economy in PPP terms in the world. Today, China leads the world in 44 of the 56 advanced technologies of the future.
In another generation, Americans will go to work in China, as the Chinese economy will be the wealthiest in the world. I say this because today, the wealthiest newborn in the world is the Chinese, as they inherit the wealth of six ancestors tax-free. This is due to the two generations of the one-child policy implemented by the Chinese. They inherit two houses. No wonder China today has surplus housing.

I worked for 27 years in a variety of schedules with a public utility and what people disliked the most was the 9/80 or 4 9 hour and one 8 hour one week and 4 9 hour on the short week. next worst were as the 7/12 for the 24 hour operation and the favored schedule was the 8/10. for every 2 weeks. So the -10 hour week was very popular without reducing hours worked which saves money when you have facilities that must be operated 24/7. When I started there there were 3 overlapping 9 hour shifts for facility operations. When we went to 2/12 hour shifts it was initially hated due to the reduction in jobs and the increase in shift duration but the vast majority ended up being happy with the change because our weekends were 3 or 4 days.

There is a little capitalism but for the most part. Socialism comes in the form of 401.K to businesses and national debt. We live in an artificial economy. Where debts prop the loss most losses for most businesses. We will start to see more wars around the world because our war machines are totally dependent on oil. These Super rich have to have big militaries because they want their riches protected. So, they have to have corporate taxes to some degree. Other reliable taxes than borrowing. A lot of other countries (Chinan Russia and Germany) have made plans in the past to conquer USA and South America. The only reason they have not taken over South America. Is because USA has kept them from attacking South America. So, you can imagine protecting such large properties from hostile countries getting a foot hold in South America is important. But China and Russia are now getting a foot hold in South America. This Ideology that America can only beat from within is crap. The plan for most hostile countries has always been to attack America from South America. They are keeping the eye on the prize. USA is what they all want. It's a country in a great geographic location. Especially for food growing. They know to destroy America they have to dominate the oil countries. That is exactly what they are trying to do. The USA used to be the breadbasket of the world back in the 1970 and 1980. It used to produce 25 percent of the world food. Now we are using most of the corn crops for ethanol. Next time you go to the grocery store and complain about the food prices. Grain for your meat products are in your car. The most essential thing for life is food. You can go without tv's, cars, and other trinkets but you can't go without food. All the USA industrial complexes are up stream. The rivers flow downstream. So, the industries are polluting our water and food supply. One day Americans are going to have to rethink about what really is going on and were we are headed.

  • @MrVelcanthus
    @MrVelcanthus 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

The British government of the 19th Century didn't send settlers to New Zealand. In fact, they attempted to make it more difficult for British people to settle here.
What happened was that English adventurers with the collusion of the settler government of New Zealand, stole land from Maori.
By stealing land, I do not mean that they engaged in sharp practice and by cunning, managed to swindle land off Maori. I'm sure that happened from time to time, but it was quite rare.
The most common form of the theft was when one of these 'land agents' would approach a Maori, then give them money or otherwise convince them to say to the settler land court of the day that they were the owner of the land, and were happy to sell to these adventurers. This is recounted in, amongst others, Keith Sinclair's 'A Short History of New Zealand'. which I mention because it was a standard text in New Zealand high schools. He does not hold a controversial position.
For whatever reason, the British did not, directly, engage in the theft of native land in New Zealand. They were complicit, and the military units that had been garrisoned there were sympathetic to their compatriots. When it came to the Maori Land Wars of the 1860s, they readily took up arms against what we call te Tangata Whenua.
My own conclusion is that Great Britain did not want to become embroiled in another colony, certainly not one halfway around the world. They were happy to be polite, but they didn't really want to have to administer it at all, and I'm not sure I blame them. It took six months for a ship to sail to New Zealand, and had Apocalypse Now hit the Westend at the time, I fancy there'd have been a lot of blanching in the Foreign Office.
I have to say I found your pronunciation of Maori amusing. The first syllable, is pronounced like the first part of mouse. The second syllable starts with a flap, not a rhotic , so it might sound like moud-dee to your ear.

It is definitely true that land owned by Maori were stolen by British adventurers with the collusion of the settler government. The British government didn't want to get involved, but it garrisoned significant numbers of troops with more advanced weapons and equipment here, and their sympathies lay entirely with their compatriots. Their first instinct to ignore the outrage at the theft of land, and then to go to war to protect the thieves.
While Great Britain were not directly an arm of oppression, they certainly didn't make any effort to ensure that the things they agreed to in 1840 were adhered to. They certainly were an arm of oppression from 1862 onwards.

I'd call it commercial capitalism. The term "merchant" is used to refer to what Marx called "the antediluvian form of capital" prior to the British industrial revolution (aka the rise of the capitalist mode of production). He also referred to it as "the independent form of capital". That independence ended aas merchant capital was subsumed within the new capitalist mode of production, where it formed the commodity circuit of capital (Vol II, Part 1).

@@limitisillusion7 Voting is a strategy to move our country in the better direction. It's not a hold out until your individualized perfect candidate appears in front of you, like some dream state. I think we can all agree, if we're truly on the left, that being stuck with Trump is infinitely worse than how it would have been under Kamala-- "picking our opponent." We are now in an exceptionally bad place, with immensely more work to get to where we want to be. And I do blame fellow leftists (along with all those who voted for Trump and actually wanted to move us to the right, but there's the crucial difference) for being so uptight and so egocentric that they couldn't at least move us in the right direction, and spare us the burden and suffering. But then, maybe your life is so easy and comfortable that it won't affect you... But it will affect a vast swath of the rest of us: the climate crisis and all the very threatened, innocent wildlife and nature, the economically struggling, women, minorities, etc.
Climate Defiance polled its members and they "reluctantly endorsed" Kamala. That was the right path. The path of staying silent (or worse, criticizing the better candidate) and bringing this hell on us: that's the wrong path, by far. And it's even worse when it's done by someone who is a leader of the left, and thus has a bullhorn and creates the left culture.
(And just so when you're being judgmental you have some more facts: I think both parties are corporate. I am registered as a 3rd party. And I've considered myself socialist since before it became popular.)

Those fears guide our decisions in the voting booth, not objective logic. We cannot tell the future or predict alternate realities, so we cannot know who's right objectively. We cannot tell who's fears are more legitimate. I voted libertarian because that was the best choice according to my observations and analysis.
I actually like two of Trump's cabinet nominations a lot, RFK and Bhattacharya. In truth, if I had to vote for Trump or Kamala, I probably would have voted for Trump for RFK alone. But I also did not approve of the DNCs lack of a party primary. That is incredibly undemocratic. I didn't like the covid response from the Biden administration either, and the collusion between the Democrat party and censorship on social media is very worrying. The point in me telling you all of this is so that you have a better grasp on some other issues that voters consider. In theory, that should help you understand other voters better and give you more control to ease your fears of Trump.

I hope this man is more informed on finance than he is on NZ history. The British were not that keen on taking on NZ in 1840 as they already had 100 colonies to look after. The French were interested. Māori culture was typified by intertribal fighting, cannibalism, female infanticide and slavery. In the 1820s Māori tribes fought each other using muskets resulting in a huge population fall. In the 1830s the missionaries were very successful in introducing Christianity. Māori liked the less violent and more lawful approach they brought. Some Māori even requested the British help protect them from the French and establish law among the unruly European whalers etc. Eventually the British were prepared to take on NZ (because some informal English settlers had arrived) provided the Māori ceded sovereignty which 500+ chiefs did by signing a Treaty. The Treaty gave Māori (including the Māori slaves) the same rights and duties as British settlers. Māori could keep the land they occupied as well as their dwellings and possessions. (This was a new and Christian way of colonising due to Queen Victoria's insistence.) However, to prevent land deal problems Māori who wanted to sell their land had to sell to the government agency. By the time of the 1840 Treaty Māori had already sold about one third of their land to immigrants. Land was always a problem because of tribal ownership. In the 1860s several tribes decided they did not want to submit to the sovereignty of Queen Victoria and warfare resulted. Some land was eventually confiscated by the government as punishment for rebelling. Some was later returned. (In the end Māori sold 92% of the land.) Any grievances were fully and finally settled under Justice Sim by the 1960s. However, from 1975, as a result of Māori insistence after the importation of black power ideas and later Critical Race Theory (Marxism) from the USA, a government Treaty Tribunal was set up and the Treaty was reinterpreted and twisted to have new meanings, so Māori could start airing new and better grievances, which were not allowed to be challenged. As a result of weak and historically illiterate politicians handouts of large proportions went to certain Māori tribes. This has been going on ever since and is largely based on fraud. The NZ Government now has to attempt to tidy up the mess while the Māori elite want to take over the country by 2040.
