He even once loved a girl alot and wanted to marry her but his father refused bc she was normal and from different family so he put him in prison for first time. They say from that time he became crazy and started to act like that.
LOIO there was NOTHING normal about Uday. It would be like putting Ted bundy in charge of a concentration camp, and when you realize the extent of what he would of done there saying 'he was normal until the war broke him.' The LEVEL of brutal perverse, sadistic horror he perpetrated was beyond the realm of even being Hussein's son. He was a very sick guy born to a vicious dictator. Had Uday been the run of the mill vicious relative of a dictator then ok maybe? His level of viciousness was such he simply can't be called normal. He took it to extremes of sexual sadism his father did NOT instill in him.
Honestly, I found Dominique Cooper's portrayal of Uday to be more frightening. This guy is clearly trying, but even though he looks more like the real Uday, he can't convey the man's depravity as well as Cooper did.
I feel like this series was meant to concentrate on Saddam more and only allude to Uday's deprevity. Dominique Cooper was more sinister but I feel like Phillip Arditti brought a certain intensity to this role and as bad as it is to say this, to me, Uday is almost likeable in this show. I think all the actors did a great job but some of the other characters were more weasel like. At least I laughed at Uday a couple of times.
I think this version of Uday is more grounded and relatable than the other one by Dominique Cooper, which seemed a little too loud and flashy to be realistic.
