Thx alot gd stuff i purchased a 2015 Corvette c7 30,000 mi it runs gd i just wanted to check the plugs but i don't wanna break the wires so I'll leave it thx again
I have a 2004 tahoe z71 5.3 and I can't get the wires off. I bought the special plug wire tool also. 80 dollar plugs I can't change. Somone told me I need to break the plugs literally to get the wires off then buy new plug wires. The vehicle has a horrible miss so I figured changing the plugs may help.
Those coil packs are made of plastic that you do not want to break. I would use plyers with the twist and pull method and if I had to pry agaist anything it would be the headers👍
Great video nice info ... I have a 2005 also lemans blue planning to replace spark plugs..wires ... Cause honestly I've never had any issue with mine but you never know lol besides big butty gonna thanks for that
Hey man im going to be honest i never had a dad to show me these things so from the bottom of my heart thank you so much
Same.
Better to use a long handle hose plier and twist left/right while using leverage like you did
Worked like a charm for me. I did break 2 wires though but it doesn’t matter because I am bought new ones.

I used a nail clipper to pull out the boot from the manifold after breaking the second wire and it worked eventually
I just wiggle back and forth and turn the boot and pull with some pliers by the heat shield. It's a pain, but it can be done just time consuming.
Im struggling with spark plug Heat shields now and its ridiculous
Fun times!
Top notch info right here.
Technique worked well for me, thank you!
Gotta be better options out there. I'm trying to avoid breaking plug wires while changing spark plugs
Wires don't last longer than the plugs, maybe a little, but that's plying a losing game.
60-100,000 wires are shot.
I used a Chanel locks if u bend the metal u can bend back with Screw driver. Don't pull on the cord like this guy is u want to reuse.
Yea, I the like 5 different kind of boot removal tools out there and no one with an LSx seems to own one
Different set up on my 07 6cyl Silverado

Yeah, when I pulled them from my corvette, a few of them broke. This method still helped me get them off easier.
Thanks, I've already broken 5 😆
Oh no!!!
@@CliffsHowTo but, they were super old and your technique was really helpful
Should of used a Chanel locks u would of broke 0
Whats the spring for on the shield?
Hmmmm, good question!

Very helpful thank you!
I tried it this way but it didn't work I ended up just breaking the plug boots. Is there another way to get these things off?
I broke a few as well, but they came off easily! I just made sure I had new wires before doing this.
Spark plug wire pliers!
Chanel locks
Gloves on wiggled left and right pulled off no problem
There’s not just one way to do anything! Thanks for adding to the conversation, and offering an alternative solution!
You gotbthe right idea but never pull on the wire. Gran the boot. But to save head ache 20 buys a puller made to do it.
Dude this was so clutch on my 2015 camaro ss
Try that on the ones next to the firewall 😂
I did, and it worked fine!
You aren't joking I sliced my hands all up on my silverado from that shield I will wear gloves next time

It's called spark plug removal pliers my guy.
Great way to use a tool
why are freaking still doing this in 2022? They need to make better crap. Of course if they do, they'll charge an extra $5K on the front end
Easy til u get to the back plugs
