The school shouldn't endorse any political ideology officially. Students should be allowed to start groups and such that promote different ideologies, or movements. But when a school has control over these things, they tend to try and censor certain opinions.
100% agree. Schools should be neutral, and so should professors while in the classroom

UF is a great school. If you are thinking about applying, you definitely should!
i’m graduating in 22’ but might go for engineering. it’s the best engineering school in florida, and is cheap if i can somehow get the residency discount . what’s it like there ? i live in long island ny & know it’s “hot” year round, but would love to hear any recommendations or comments for my future, if i attend there .
I can’t wait till I can go to college, I want to go here for psychology so I can be a child therapist and it’s pretty close to home

@@brianna3139 Hi, you don't have to listen to me but... Before you spend thousands of dollars... Do a little bit more research about degree programs before you decide on psychology. Unless you're like 110% set on that specific program and are super passionate about it, I recommend majoring in something more specific. I just have several friends with a similar situation - they majored in psychology and now regret it...

@@aohall Gainesville is a really nice place to live. There are MANY apartments near campus that are modern and affordable. Nice restaurants! If your a Staff at UF or Shands, you have FREE access to this Lake. It's about only 15-25 minutes away from places.

OHALL I’m from out of state but the tuition is a little cheaper than most schools in California and the ranking is super good.
It’s my dream school. It’s very close to home (only about 2 hours) and it amazes me.

LOL for students preaching about "diversity", they're not really living up to that.
They'll talk about racial, sexual, ethnic and cultural diversity. But will turn the eye when Political, intellectual and individual diversity is brought up.

Diversity can involve a multitude of things, and I also think that you can appreciate a diversity of political opinion without agreeing with all of said opinions. Certain hateful opinions though, like homophobia and racism, are inherently unacceptable… not sure if that’s what you’re referring to. Opinions like those actively disallow diversity because they exclude people from the space.
