There’s no one providing better, more thorough, informative and JNAT envy whetstone visuals, anywhere. Every stone you demonstrate with for we “great unwashed “ seems as valuable as a Porsche? Not complaining, just envy.
@@naturalwhetstones …these tutorials (?) are a level of information not found elsewhere. Other (well meaning) blogs try to entertain as much as inform, but your no nonsense, thorough JNAT knowledge from mountain (mine) to splash and go use is otherworldly. Keep these video’s coming; they’re amazing.
Thanks! I hope to keep them coming. I think there is plenty of great information out there but everyone prefers a certain types of delivery. Glad mine works for you.
A lot of useful information, but why didn't you say anything about coma nagura as a bench stone? Does it make sense to use them, are they worse or better than mejiro? I have heard different information and still want to buy such a stone from Totigen, although he mainly sells mikawa koma with black dots, and I think it will be quite bulky in work
Hey Dan! I actually have the 4 main Mikawa (Botan, Tenjyou, Mejiro, Koma) in bench form and will eventually do videos on each of them (as well as them as a razor based progression for slurry). I just haven't had the time yet to do it. They have their places. The Koma with the black dots has a tendency to scratch. It can be okay for sharpening, but not a good stone for polishing work.
No, the progression and speed is related to coarseness like normal for the mikawa lineup: naturalwhetstones.com/blade-sharpening/japanese-nagura-information/mikawa-asano-nagura/
Go ahead and contact me via email here: naturalwhetstones.com/contact-me/ I don't make any videos about anything I didn't get myself though for bias reasons (just a heads up). If you are looking for individual feedback, happy to help.
It's amazing how much everyone can learn from your videos. Thank you!

I don't think they are that out there, you can find them if you want! Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it

中名倉砥ですか…今では値段も高く手に入れるのが難しい砥石ですね、貴重な天然砥石を見せて頂きありがとうございます^_^
Oh yeah, Thant you for this demo sir! It was really interesting and it’s always fun to see how a JNAT is performing 🙂

@@naturalwhetstones The question is, will sharpening on a coma be faster than on a botan for example
