@@naturalwhetstones There’s plenty of sharpening sites to visit, “BURR” and “Never a Dull Moment” immediately pop to mind. They’re fine, easily understood but minimally informative. Thank you for your great work. Can i ask you if you ever came across of the Orange lined Natsuya in a smaller size?I wish to buy one with a smaller size.
They are out there for sure! I do see Natsuya though usually in this larger size which is standard for them. I would keep an eye on KKF forums as I see Natsuya to up for sale often there at decent prices
Do you mean just a picture of them or where to get them? Since they are each unique it isn't something I can easily put a page up to where you can get a very similar product. You have to work with seller individually to find one that performs the way you want. I do have this page though for that (I am not affiliated with any of them so YMMV): naturalwhetstones.com/blade-sharpening/reputable-japanese-natural-stone-jnat-nagura-sellers/ The only social I have is my own personal one, youtube and my website are the only place I am really active for this content.
@@naturalwhetstones Thank you very much for answering, My knives are white and blue steel, which stones would you personally recommend. I just started wanting to buy natural stones, I've always used synthetic ones.
@@marioperezmadriz4844 Education on the topic is pretty important so I would ensure you have read through the progression concept of Aratoishi -> Nakatoishi -> Awasedo on the website. From there, my general suggestion would be a Synthetic up to 1k, a Nakatoishi (or two), and an Awasedo (or two) depending on how many steps you find comfortable. Are you polishing or just sharpening? That matters a lot in how many steps you need. If you are just sharpening, you can likely get away with a single Nakatoishi and a single Awasedo. Hmm yes and no. Binsui is a wider range of quality, I do think Natsuya is a nicer stone. However, I think 50%+ of the cost is the looks alone, so in that way yes.
Here is a mines list: naturalwhetstones.com/knives-and-razors/japanese-knife-cladding-and-finishes/japanese-natural-stone-mines-list/ Mines for awasedo I am guessing is what you mean. If so, many produce fantastic stones. Many also produce stinkers. Buying from a reputable vendor helps a lot for testing. You doing razors or knives?
Great video as always! Thanks for taking the time to make these.
That stone is a beauty!!!
Thanks! The strips are indeed nice
@@naturalwhetstones they are. Looks like wood 😊
I absolutely look forward to your whetstone reviews and tutorial videos releases! Great video!
Thanks glad you liked it!
Love it. So glad you’re making these videos!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
These are graduate student tutorials in JNAT; just amazing in specificity.
Thanks Ed!

Hey can you make a video about suita please?
At some point I will, what exactly are you hoping to have covered? There are quite a few Suita videos out there already.
Oh ok thanks
So its like hipster version of binsui?

Πολύ καλό ! ! !
This stone is 1000 grits?
As with all natural stones it's hard to really say. I think most Natsuya are like a 800-1200 stone yeah.
@@naturalwhetstones thanks! really beautiful stone. How much does it cost, can I ask?
Depends on the specimen but you can find them for like $150-200 in used forums or on buyee
Just recently added a brick it is a Shohonyama Okuda Shiro Suita.
Nice!
