OMG there should be a warning at the beginning to not be drinking and watching at the same time. I nearly choked during the Willie Wonka portion! I was laughing out loud - I'm sure my family wondered what was going on. Love you and thank you for coming back to floss tube land. It's been too long! Bad joke of the day: Q: What do you call a group of friends that go out to eat? A: Taste buds
Hi Maggi! I love your podcast. I just spent the time watching while washing dishes and it made it so much more fun. Your stitching is lovely. Yes, there is only one true Willy Wonka!
Just love everything about you, your channel and this video! I wish my Chatelaine thread and bead pack would arrive so I could join in on the fun. You make me want to join in and film my very own flosstube. Thank you for sharing yourself and all your amazing projects with the community!
I told my husband no dinner until after KitschyWips - Maggi just dropped a new one! AND then...the whole Wonka/Willy thing and Mama's House! You are too much - keeping cross flosstube cool and hilarious all by your by lonesome. Never change Maggi.
You are so punny. I am right there with you with puns. I absolutely love your color of fabrics. You have a great eye to fit each pattern on just the right colors. Love your sense of humor...I laugh out loud & my dogs think I'm crazy. 😂 Either your hotel room needs to clean the duct work. Or your room is haunted. The 🚽 flushed on its own and something was flying around the entire video. 👻
Love the hissed off pattern. I agree that chart readability is often overlooked. My favorite designer for readability is Glendon place-it’s clear she has put a lot of thought into it. Happy stitching! 🦉🐊
I loved the end where you granted everyone permission to start new projects🤣You don't have to tell me twice. I've got so many Wips that now if i get a new pattern I don't tell my non-stitching friends. So.....I have secret cross stitch projects that I quickly hide when people come over so they can't nag me about adding another project.🤣
I’m pretty sure you’re being haunted in this video 👻 Dust motes moving in view all on their own, independently flushing toilets…hope you survived your hotel stay because I can’t wait to see more progress on your Muse!
I am not a fan of most puns. But. I after hearing you hold forth about Willies and Willie Wonka, you and I could definitely be friends! Moreover. I am also a paper pattern stitcher, and I am right there with you about the layout and text of paper patterns. I have railed on that topic AT LENGTH on many occasions. I love your fabric on the Met project. ❤ Whips & wands, thank you so much for your generous permission, and happy update.
I could not agree more about the readability of a pattern. Emerald City by Owl Forest has one of the greatest features I've ever seen. There are two patterns. One is your standard pattern. The other is the same pattern but with little lines around each motif to show you where you can cut the pattern apart. So I don't have to have a giant map size (yes I'm old and I know about folding maps) pattern. I can have the one little motif I'm working on needle mindered (is that a word?) to my fabric. Amazeballs. I would pay extra if, say Mirabilias, had the normal fancy map of a pattern along with smaller "working copies". Have you ever tried to copy a Mirabilia pattern on a standard copy machine? Struggle bus.
Oh yeah, I just shove a Mira in the printer any way I can and hope for the best! 😂 At least Mira’s are cut through the middle horizontally. I’ll never understand the ones cut straight up through the middle. So much back and forth, ugh. 😂
Persephone is my first and only Mira so far but I’m positive there will be others. 😂 I haven’t ever started a chatelaine but I have one picked out for once I feel up to it.
Thanks for lifting my spirits and making me smile and laugh. It was so nice to see another video from you. I hope you enjoyed your time away. Love the Halloween Mandala on that fabric! Are there are a lot of beads and specialty threads needed for that chart?
100% agree designers (publishers?) need to recognize that the readability of a pattern is key. Numerical order of flosses yes. Number of skeins per color (or number of stitches in a particular color) is appreciated. On a color chart there should still be symbols on most if not all the blocks. 413 & 3799 as dark grey blocks next to each other is pure evil. If possible a black & white symbol chart alongside a color block chart is appreciated. Try to not use similar symbols in the same chart, especially similar colors or next to each other. O, o and 0 or v and V can be annoying. Arrows or triangles going in every direction next to each other is headache inducing. Have overlap lines for charts on different pages so we can easily switch pages. Don’t print on one huge sheet of paper, making a working copy is frustrating. Color key on all pages appreciated. (I usually cut it out & paperclip onto my current page.) Make sure the “weight” of your symbols, back stitch & grid lines are reasonable. Heavy bold font is much harder to read, as is super thin. Colors or markings on the back stitch lines helps a lot instead of directions like use color 1 on the foreground of the element & color 2 on the background. If printed in a book, make sure there’s room between the chart edge & book spine…I shouldn’t have to destroy my book spine to see the innermost symbols. Always give me the dimensions of a project, and a suggestion for fabric size. I keep cutting my fabric almost too small somehow. I can at least look at your dimensions and figure out the margin you’re giving to see if I want to adjust the size.
@KitschyWips clearly I haven't experienced a variety of charting styles to realize what I like or want to toss into the deepest most fiery depths of hell lol. *cough* color charts *cough* The Theresa Wentzler best of fantasy 2 is a really good example of what not to do for a bunch of my thoughts. Some charts are super thin lines/fonts, some are average line weight, others are extra bold, most everything is close to the spine. She gets a pass on numerical order due to blends, symbols so far seem fine. I just don't understand how there's 3 different line weights in the same book.
Great progress on your wips have a wonderful week and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
Thank you!!
I nearly fell off my chair with the Wonka debacle , lol. Love me some Nora too, can't get enough,

That’s good to know!! I feel the same way about Autumn Lane Stitchery!
As a fellow Master of Puns, we are definitely friends ♥️ loving that AKA Maggi fabric!
Woo hoo!!!
I’m a “Mama’s Family“ stitcher as well. ❤
Yay!!!!

I was just looking up the chatelaine Kitty when you said let me just show you, thank you 😂
😂 It had to be done!
#LoveYourWonka 🤭
😂😂😂😂😂
So glad you like Mrs Peggotty designs. I've collected them for years. "Pegg" otty is the the housekeeper in Charles Dickens David Copperfield.
That’s awesome!! Thank you!

Right??? I definitely wasn’t alone. 😂 Thank you!!
I’m a Pun mom too. Like a fun mom, but with better comebacks. We can be friends. ❤😂
💯! You get it!! 😂
@@KitschyWips I teach middle school and have a 16 and 19 year old. I absolutely do! 😊

Oh good, I was working and now I have an excuse not to. ❤
😂😂😂😂😂 Happy to help!
Mama's Family plus cross-stitch sounds like a grand time. How about #Chativersary? Gene Wilder is the best Wonka.
Love that hashtag!
Thanks for lifting my spirits and making me smile and laugh. It was so nice to see another video from you. I hope you enjoyed your time away. Love the Halloween Mandala on that fabric! Are there are a lot of beads and specialty threads needed for that chart?
Thank you for watching! ❤️ For Halloween kitty there are a few beads, but it’s not super crazy with the speciality threads!
You could very easily convert them all to DMC. The Tattooed Crafting Owl is doing that!
OMG I want to start a Chatelaine but I never know WHICH one... and now I want to do the Halloween one...
they’re all good choices! 😂 That Halloween one is super fun!

How do you colour changes for skin ,is there any site with suggestion ?
There really a few resources out there but this is a good one: lordlibidan.com/find-the-perfect-skin-tone-dmc-threads/amp/
@@KitschyWips thank you sooo much ! 🌷🙏💚
Nope. You are correct. Gene Wilder will forever be the only Wanka.
Everything is beautiful.
