Many many moons ago you could buy the 14ct plastic canvas in stores because I used to have quite a stash in several colors. When my kids were young I used to stitch a lot of bookmarks because they were quick and I also made a lot of plastic (7 mesh) ornaments back in the day.
I saved those Shannon Christine freebies last year with intentions of making ornaments…one of these days. I wanna stitch Mill Hills but I don’t love how perforated paper feels. But I feel like how they are designed/finished is more supportive of using paper and not subbing in fabric. That’s a gorgeous colour palette for Fox and Rabbit!
I have stitched a larger Mill Hill on 32 count fabric and I really didn’t mind, but the beads got crowded. The paper works will if you stitch them fast because it stays in good shape. It does break down with extended handling!
Thanks for mentioning BeStitchMe! I stopped in after my husband & I finished some antiquing & it was so worth the visit. My stash pile & I thank you! 😂
Also planning on the fox and rabbit but I’m waiting for a few release and more pics for inspiration. I’ve never identified more with you than when you mourned your bent book cover. 😂
60 something finishes, pick up my jaw. I hope to follow in your footsteps this year with the finishes! Man those trot cards pop off that fabric! Thanks for the book talk.
Happy New Year! Agree on the mill hills. I use to strands, gotta be able to do that loop start! You got so much done, everything looks great. Love the colors for the fox and rabbit sal.
Back in the 1980’s all my “kits” said to use 3 strands. Because I didn’t know any better way but to do what was called for, I did that. I do not have much left from that timeframe except a clock I stitched. It still looks vibrant and still is a favorite. Thank goodness coming back to stitching in 2020 ( found floss tube ) there are such excellent tutorials and I am just delighted by the designers!
I can definitely be a “rule follower” so it’s nice when someone tells me I don’t have to do it a certain way or there’s an easier way. 🤣 That’s why I wanted to mention it!
Thanks for the great visit. I love seeing the wide variety of pieces you work on. I have started the Fox and Rabbit SAL and am using DMC variegated 4045. As more of the pattern is released, I may add a few bits of other colors but currently plan to keep it in the one floss. I love seeing the creative way people choose colors but also admire the monochromatic finishes! Appreciate your book reviews! Happy stitching!
I'm going to stitch the Tarot from The Witchy Stitcher for my DIL who does tarot readings. I just finally found a piece of fabric that will be big enough but I want to over dye it before I start stitching so I hope to get it started this spring lol.
I agree on the Mill Hill kits. I never tried 3 strands but I thought it would be too difficult to thread a needle and then pull through the paper holes.
Yay fab update lovely, some stunning stitching as always! I'm so glad you've read powerless, I have all three and have procrastinated on reading these because of the mixed reviews lol i thought the same as you regarding lights out too, i really enjoyed the first half then it went weird in the middle and confused me lol also, am i a glutton for punishment and going to read the follow up when it comes out? Probably lol
Love Christmas stitching, thanks
I love that ink circles in monotone.

That’s too bad! I haven’t seen it ever out in the wild these days

Amazing!!!! It’s a hidden gem for sure
Lovely finishes!
Ooh love all your finishes! I have the Priestess card and some of the frame done from the Nostalgic Tarot
I agree on the Mill Hill kits, I only use two strands and I also loop start them.

I read my books of course but I want them to stay in pristine condition! 🤪
@ same! I won’t ever lend books because most people don’t get it. It needs to look like I haven’t read it when I have.

It’s Moline Illinois. Love the store!!
I noticed when editing that I kept misspeaking! I don’t know what was wrong with me 🥴

That's a great color choice for that SAL! It’s going to be totally gorgeous as a monochrome stitch too!

I don’t want to be fighting my stitching the whole time with 3!
Great video! ❤ Have a wonderful week!
Happy New Year! Love the stitching but admit I purchased three of the recommended books!
That’s awesome! What are you reading first? 🤪
@ I believe Powerless will be the first

Lights Out started out soooooooo unserious and fun, then tried to get serious and got weird 🤣
Where can I find those cute mugs you said were freebies? Tried Shannon Christine but can’t locate them.
I found them in her Facebook group. You have to request to join her group and then they should be in Files or Photos in the group.
"Truck" lol
Go on, Dimensions, give us nothing!! 🤣
Your Fox & Rabbit stitch-a-long, is that a Nurge hoop with a Q-Snap grime guard? If so, how does it fit? If not, what type of grime guard is it?
It’s in a Qsnap with a grime guard. But I think it would fit pretty similar on a Nurge - maybe a little loose but should still work
