I want to do 100 heads but *sigh* I have lit no resolve
I don’t know if you want this advice but if you still have a lot of problems making distinguishable faces, then it might be because you use a lot of the same features too much (ex: same eyes in too many characters, same noses, same lips, ear lobes attacked or detached, same eye brows, no freckles or lots of freckles or moles) a lot of these individual features is what makes a face distinguishing and when drawing characters it’s important to have at least two different features types to other characters.

Yeah, it takes a lot of hard work and practice for people to get confident enough in their art to draw with pens. I’m terrible at it, and I’m not the most confident artist, so that might have something to do with it.
Okay sorry but I hate it when people call artists talented, I know people mean it in a good way but being talented means that your naturally good at something when most of the time these people were just as bad at art as the average person was and they worked hard to get as good as they are. It's kinda dis-hearting. Sorry for the rant but please use the word skilled not talented

I think this might be a tip for drawing face shapes, I don’t really know but consider cheek bones and jaw lines
I guess I’ve noticed you kinda draw the same jaw line for a lot of characters so weaker and stronger jaws, lower and higher and how protruding the chin and jaw actually are, the chin also matters like more rounded chins or more pointy chins
Cheekbones can also effect the face like higher cheekbone can effect the smile and how the eyes are and everything
(Another little tip is foreheads like bigger or smaller foreheads)

The way you work with ballpoint pens is absolutely incredible, Oliver! Because of you (and DrawingWiffWaffes), I started to sketch in pen too, and I've noticed some huge improvements in my art already. Watching you go through this video gave me a lot of inspiration and ideas on this that I want to try to do with pens, too. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing! Also, I will try this challenge one day, too. Just not right now as I'm trying to finish my master's degree, haha! Maybe some time by the beginning of next year! :)
I’ve been a fan of yours for a while and you are really inspiring, I’ve always been told that drawing cartoons is for children, but watching you for a while has showed me that what mattered is if I loved what I was doing. I hope you have a great day and I just wanted to let you know you are my role model!
I have definitely noticed that your faces do look very similar but the main thing I noticed was all of your body types look the same which I think is actually worse in my opinion because the body type affects the silhouette the most. In my line ups in order I to make them interesting is that I trace out the very basic parts of the characters and if two look similar I'll change it
I think my favorite page was the green section. You just put so much detail into it all, I'm amazed!

My god! I love seeing you do this challenge! I can see how it stretched into the different face types, and I really want to attempt this as well! Great job!!!
That's the one thing I am proud of with my art! I try to make sure that every face is different and another tip I can give you is varying face proportions like make the nose close to the eyes with one character and with another the nose and mouth are closer together etc.
I also wanna say that your drawings in this video are so gorgeous man! Like Hell yeah you did that! And you filled 7 spreads that's 14 pages ma dude you really be flexing on all of us. I'll probably do this challenge soon just cause art block is really kicking my ass and cause this video gave me inspiration and motivation so thank you for that ❤

Latter that week I told my mom and while she doesnt get it and thinks it a phase she took it well. How someone manages to draw in pen,I will never know
I do it all the time but I have to have sticky notes tho
Tbh its eiser than pencil in my opinion
Pens are fun. They just slide across the paper
Layer - first do a brief sketch very lightly then use more pressure for the final sketch and use cross hatching for shading
You want a pen that glides and has a large range in values. If your pen is dark all the time, you will probably have a trash experience

hey we dont really know eachother but I want you to know that I'm happy you're here. depression isnt an easy thing to deal with, it actually sucks ass. I want to tell you that I'm proud of you for getting this far and that a stranger from a part of the world cares about you and your well being:) it's really hard to draw when you're depressed but take a break, lie down with the lights off and just focus on your breathing. living can be really emotionally draining so you have to allow yourself rest, it's always better to work with your body rather than against it. sometimes drawing fanart or my ocs get me a bit more excited to start so maybe that may work for you. music can affect mood too!! bottom line is just dont hold it against yourself if you cant find it in you to do it, I dont know your struggles but I know how it feels like (to an extent obvs cause everybody's experiences are different). it's not easy, man I know it's not easy and maybe this isnt an art tip but just a general thing I've learned through experience is focus on repairing your relationship with yourself. for me, there was clear tension between parts of myself. they clashed very very often. I've read "talking" to those parts help you understand why they're there in the first place. I remember having a very complicated relationship with my anger and the first time I tried having a convo it was really hard, I felt shut out almost idk how to describe it but slowly when I stopped being angry at constantly being angry and just allowed it to exist, to let myself feel it without judgement I learned that the anger made sure the people who hurt me dont enter in my life again. I still get angry obviously but it's about having understanding for why you feel what you feel instead of judging yourself or shaming yourself for feeling the way you do. this was extremely long and I'm so sorry for that but I just wanted to let you know you're seen, heard and not alone.

I can relate I really suck at drawing different face shapes
i did this challenge and yesss I totally agree it's really nice to do (aside from dying)! I feel like it really helped my ability to draw faces more confidently without overthinking. There's so many things this challenge might help with tbh, face structure, face values, tackling realism and stylization, it's great. Disclaimer though don't be like me and try to finish the last 40 in one day.....my soul has yet to recover.
You are amazing. So... INCREDIBLY talented! ❤ This was just... so inspiring. My favorite heads were the old bearded men with gnarled up faces, and the more elegant looking beardos too lol😊. Also: 10:14, you crack me up 😂😊❤

I don’t know but I just can’t draw the same face twice and I only ever really draw my oc and they never look the same it’s real frustrating lol
