I noticed the mistake lego made ngl, making optimus prime without a nose in the trailer, so this is a great way of fixing it, also i like the first one than the second one, just my opinion 😁
Definitely the second one for me. The first just looks unfinished still, like something is still missing. You still get to have those eyes print on the second.
You could connect a joint to the grey part that makes the eyes. You could make a blaster eye like that bounty hunter from transformers age of extinction. Also a blade to define the eyes would also be cool.
The first one has a definite ultramagnus vibe (maybe because ultra Magnus was blocky as a toy in light blue tones) both are uniquely different but the second still retains the slender eyes that's a tad too small even with the neat nose bridge. I'd go with the blocky first one even though it's less accurate to the eyes Optimus has. The blockyness adds to blocky nature of Lego bricks too and reads better from a distance where as the 2nd gets lost like the original build when viewed from a far. BTW have you seen the Optimus trailer built by hachiroku24 on yt it's not bad opens fully like the toy
The first head mod looks better in my opinion, it makes the design look much more 3 dimensional and natural. I personally wasn’t a fan of the tile piece being the eyes 👀 because it just didn’t look right. I like how the mod gives him a nose 👃🏻 it again makes the build look more realistic. Great video

There's a 3rd one I saw where you basically remove the thin stripe from bellow the eyes, making the whole head basically slightly shorter/stockier. I wish I had the link for the F@cebook post.

I have this set. I will mention, it does become incredibly loose over time. Mine has arms that cant be in any pose without flopping.

I prefer using studs for eyes, and no nose. In G1 his nose was pretty innocuous so I excluded it.
