I'm a Nigerian watching your video make me proud you have a Nigeria Dna tough strong and optimistic. You have make your father proud and all Nigerian around the world thank you
You resemble your dad both in smile and face. I love you and your husband for doing this. Please always check on him because whenever he remembers this it will give him more longevity.
I can imagine how difficult it must be for you, your father, mother and your brothers. Your father still had the cultural and religious aspects of his Nigerian background to deal with. He may have genuinely wanted to join your mother and his children but no one knows the pressures he was under. Those years were not easy especially for those in the Northern part of Nigeria. I hope you and your family visit your father in Nigeria sometimes in the future and share the recordings with us. I believe he will be happy to receive you. Cheers
I am glad you made an effort to reuniting you family and siblings with your father. And I want you to understand your father got into trouble with his parents by getting married to your mother. He must have had to compromise for your mother to be accepted into his family; maybe by adhering strictly to culture. And I think your mother never knew. The biggest challenge must have been trying to please his parents, your mum and you; his children. In the end he lost you and your mum. I can understand life was complicated for you, your mum, and siblings. But he buried his complicated feelings in his heart. He will forever be grateful to you.
Kenton is a very humble and kind hearted man. Before ur dad reached out to pick what ever fell on the dloor,Kenton was fast enough to pick it up for him.God will keep him and his children will pay same respect to him.Thank U Habiba,u r so sweet.Bringing ur daddy to reunite in the USA was a great idea.God bless u sissy.U will be watered as well and ur children will stand by u in old age.I love u sissy. From ur African-Cameroon sister in the USA
Some of our fathers have made mistakes in the past and it was great that he had a chance to spend time with you and your family. Unfortunately I did not get that chance until I was contacted that he had died. Cherish this moment and not dwell on the past( easier said than done though). You come across as a very kind and sincere lady. Love your vlogs because they are genuine x
Happy for you that you are able to reunite with your dad before it becomes too late. Thank you for bringing joy to his life. I'm sure he is heading home well satisfied.
I dont think she needs to do anything. She especially her mum is very gracious. She can graciously visit him too but NEED nah. There are consequences and may we be forgiving and gracious but no demands pls.
I just found your channel and I believe the caption about " My Nigerian father and 30 years" got my attention. I watched everything and don't blame your mum for moving with her kids when she did. I lived in kaduna for 9 years when i came from the east for my NYSC and I understand how undiluted the culture is. Your Dad knew that, but her love for your mum made him to do what most northern folks will not do which is marry outside their tribe, culture and religion. I salute your courage in trying to keep the family together irrespective of what happened in the past. Keep on trying, a lot of water has gone under the bridge and hey that is the only Dad you have. You really impressed me and I wish all first daughters will be like you.
@@gardensteps not true. Northern men love to marry outside the north more than the 2 other major tribes(Yoruba & Igbo), the issue with them is they will not compromise in allowing the woman practice her faith if she is not muslim, which is were they are different from Yoruba Muslims.
😭😭 All the feels! Despite what’s happened in the past you decided to take the step towards reconciliation. 8:10 was really heartwarming to see father and daughter (y’all are so alike!) Then seeing your father overcome and be affectionate towards you and asking “just give me a little chance to know more about you”. Even as a grown woman you can tell he’s so proud of you. Nice to have arranged for your fathers visit to meet his first family in US please plan to visit him and your family in Nigeria he will appreciate more be blessed Dr Habiba
Am proud of your husband. You married a very respectful husband, carrying your father’s suitcases!! that’s very huge for an ‘African man’. Seeing this post for the first time today.
I’ve been binging on your videos especially these vlogs with your dad. I literally tears up when your bro opened the car and your Mom was there. I adore your dad. He is so much like my Jamaican granddad and uncle’s. He was deeply emotional especially when he hugged his son. I hope your bro can work out his emotions and y’all visit Nigeria soon. Love your videos.
Honestly, I love everything about you...your calmness and you have really find peace within yourself. This is a memory that your father will forever cherish... I can feel the love between father and daughter. You just show me there is nothing in this world to fight or worry over but to find peace and learn to forgive each other no matter the situation we find ourselves. Thank you and may God continue to bless you and your family..
You are an amazing woman opening your heart and your home to a father you haven't seen in 30 years. However, as Nigerian too, I believe it was tough for men of your father's generation who got something going for them to leave the life they know behind and move. He might not have the words to express his apology but he looked remorseful. As you said, nobody knows how much time they have left but you may through your message teach total forgiveness to many. Nobody has the power to change the past but we can influence what we do with the future.
But he could have visited the kids in the US once in a while and supported them financially . Seems he is from Sultan Sokoto family. They are really wealthy

Hello Habiba. I am a new subscriber to your channel. First of all, you have a good spirit. You did the right thing but your other brother has missed a great chance of having a time with his father. I am a Nigerian from the southern part of Nigeria. Thank you for sharing your story. It is almost difficult not to cry because it is an emotional story. Your father should be in his mid 70's or late 70's by now. And he did well to come to see you guys. You know the reason, he wants a closure, a time WITH HIS CHILDREN!!!. And that was why I said your brother missed cos you don't know when and if he would be able to visit again. Not in any position to advise you but I really pray you keep reaching out to him. He still obviously cares about your mum and I wished your mother had the same reciprocal feeling. She is over him and understandably. I also pray he will do same by reaching out to you people.
I'm so impressed with you Habiba. You are very lively and have a large heart. I feel like you are the vital anchor initiating the reunion between your father and the rest of your family! That is cool! And by d way, I love d reunion all d way. In case you don't know, your father was very emotional & proud, but Nigerian men instinctively grow up concealing their emotions to be as manly as possible. I know this cause I'm Nigerian!

Habiba you did great by reuniting the whole family! But you got to give your mom more time to come to the same level as you are towards yr dad ! Remember she went through a lot , and any mother would have done the same to get her children out the strict religious and cultural environment of northern Nigeria and also yr dad did his best at that time you can’t fault him too much , the family, religion and cultural pressure what’s too much on him , that result in what happened !!!! Overall a very family reunion story we can all relate to, you got to write a book on this !!!!!!
Kenton & Habiba Thank you both !!! Great family !!! Touching immigrant story !!! And I just subscribed to yr channel !!!! As a 58 old Nigerian male married to a non Nigeria i met in England in 1990 and we now living in California with my 3 kids I can easily relate to your story !!!! Your mom got to do what she got to do at that point in her life , for the sake of her children , regardless of whether people agree or not . In my opinion Kudos to her. !!!!
I teared up a bit about your story and reminisce about my own relationship with my soon to be ex wife and I hope in future we can both still sit together in the same space and be cordial with one another whilst we enjoy our children and grandchildren together as one big family. You all did very well, kudos to your Mum, with what seems to be a very difficult experience seeing the husband she once loved, I felt she did the best she could under the circumstance. Your Dad, did extremely well too, coping as a elderly Man in his situation should, he obviously have a lot of affection for your Mum and did his best to apologize for his part in the marital break up with your Mum. Let no one judge him or any of the family members' behavior in this videos. I wish everyone involved in what to date is the best and most useful Vblog on family relationship and redemption process , I've watched on TH-cam, a lot of love and peace of mind in the knowledge they all did their best in this reunion story. Kenton especially and the grand children are the Stars of this beautiful Vblog. He did very well in making his Father in law who I assume he met for the very first time in the Vblog, feels very welcome into his home. I love the way Bashir supported his Dad with the issue of Spark Plugs and for convincing your Mum to come along to North Carolina with him to meet your Dad, but I sense a major disconnect in his relationship with his Dad. It will take a while for all the wounds to heal. Habiba, you and your family are very hospitable, you took us, viewers on a great journey of a Family Reunion experience. So many lessons to learn from this story. I'm sure your Dad would have returned back home to Nigeria and his 2nd family, feeling happy and satisfied that he made peace as best as he could with his 1st family. What a brilliant and humble Man your Dad is, in my view, he deserved to be forgiven by all concerned with this story. I hope you all continue to grow and love each other going forward. Brilliant Family, Habiba, and thank you for facilitating your Dad's reunion with his family and this Vblog. Looking forward to the Vblog of your visit along with Kenton and Bashir to Nigeria soon.
Wow! This is a long one. I love it. That's what I would have said too. Tears in my eye as I type. I truly identify with all that Habiba and her mother and siblings went through in Nigeria before their escapism to Canada and finally to the USA. God has been grateful and Gracious to then. They would have forced her to get marriage early to man she did not love and destroy her happiness. I'm so happy for them. Habiba is very forgiving. Blessing to her and her loving husband. Kids are well brought up and never once behaved snobbishly. Thank you.🤝🏾🤝🏾
You surprise me in all your videos, did not know you were a doctor, you are so humble, down to earth and soft. Good luck with your life. RUMBLE in JUNGLE NANA VS KENTON.... hahahahahahaha
You are such an amazing daughter. I'm in love with your positive manner. Well, you had a wonderful orientation from him and keep your good work up. He's definitely proud of you as a daughter, you are superb in many ways. We love your family...
You welcome your father very well yes we all go through problems in life and like you did say put the past behind learn to forgive yeh you did well PS I love your dolls xxxxxxx
Dr Abigail I am so happy you reunited with your Dad. I remember your immigration story and the thing that led you to America. I wish I can do this with my dad. The pain is too deep I don’t think I can. But the reunification is awesome. I see the love and the joy. Am glad you did. Wish to see you in naija. Hey love from NYC. And I hope business was great.
Last words so Deep! Habiba - Be good to your wife and family. Kenton - Take care of your self. My heart melted....so much tears watching the whole vlog series about your father's visit. My take no this; Habiba you are a nice and an angel of a woman. You have a beautiful heart, beautiful family and moreso an awesome God given husband. You smile and laughter behind the camera melts heart. Thanks for looking out for your father. You have made him proud and have extended his life by your action. In return, only God in heaven knows the kind of blessing your father bestowed upon during his trip to you. You are really blessed and loving woman! Extras: Just love how you call your father ...Daddie! BTW, Aside from your angelic laughter behind the camera, 14:15 is the first time i've really seen you get pissed off.
Yes papa is right. We don't say half sister or half brother. In fact, we grew up being told we are brothers and sisters no cousins appellation. It results I don't call anyone cousin. I don't have cousins lol. Proud African child ❤
Me too. I grew up calling all my cousins sisters and brothers and genuinely felt they were my siblings. Matter if fact it's a part of our culture I still love till date.
Yes, no half siblings in African’s term. I remember when Auma Obama, president Obama African sister during an interview was asked “why do you refer to president Obama as your brother, your brother every time when he is only a half brother “ her reply was exactly same. Americans don’t seem to understand the African family dynamics, were dna is everything...😀
Yes, not everybody knows! Oh wow, do people take notice of such things as someone calling their actual brother their brother? 🤣🤣🤣 I will check that out!
Cool! I often wonder where people are watching us from! If I ever get to be a "big TH-cam channeL" I might do a meet up in New york and in North Carolina. ( my first home is NYC where my mum and brothers still live)

You are such an amazing woman. I should be about your age I think. You really act young. You remind me of myself.😄 You are super nice and loving. God bless you for spending time with your dad. Your dad reminds of my late dad. Humble, affectionate, loving..... God bless you and your family for hosting your dad. Besides, your story or rather stories are so amazing. I have never written any reviews on TH-cam before but I am moved to do so.
You did a good thing, I am proud of you. Sometimes all we can really do is that which we can do not based on what others did but based on our own values. You did a great job!
Your father is so civilized for an Hausa man like all prominent Nigerians they send their children to boarding schools. He stand his ground this is why he is able to honor you and come down. Am Nigerian also. Family influences are big responsibility that us Africans really hold after that of the highest authority. Am glad you enjoyed your reconnections with dad. And hope your brother is happy with him as you are. God Bless your family.
Your father is a lovely man. I believe he still loves your mother after watching them embrace for the first time in all those years. I hope that you'll consider going to Nigeria to visit him someday in the not too distant future. I'm very glad that you understand his culture is why he did the things he did but obviously loves you very much. You're very fortunate.
When I came across your videos about the visit of your dad from Nigeria, I was so touched and appreciate your an dying love for the man who abandoned you at a tender age. I can understand the tension of other family members but time heals. You made your father proud despite whatever happened. I appreciate that you accorded him the respect he deserves and for that his guilty pleasure will be your blessing. Your husband support was fantastic and he is genius. As a father myself I envy him for that. God bless your family for sharing your what I could say sensitive issues but very educative.

Thank you.🤝🏾🤝🏾
U are indeed a true African daughter Dr Halima and u just amazing like your father 😘
I predict this channel will get to over 1 million subscribers soon. Wonderful!

Think less, do more...I can relate and you will not regret it...you will regret not releasing the pain and resentment...I wish you peace...
Extras:
Just love how you call your father ...Daddie!
Dr., you have your mothers beauty and Dads smile & dimples Safe Journey Sir... 🙏
Daddy lovesvyou and you look just like him
You are a good daughter . God bless you. You have a very large heart darling

Wow was sad to see ur Dad leave
That's nice, your father is going to miss you all,I can see you really made him feel at home,he Wii remember forever this visit. God bless you.
He did not abandone them. Mum took them away without his kniwledge or consent. He loved, protected & provided for them when they were with him.
You've gone really great for the reunion. Please try stay in touch. God bless you all.
This make me to share tears and learn more, my children have a similar situation

My dear sister Habiba. The topic of your channel meeting my Nigeria father after 25 years drew me to watching and subscribing. Am sure there are more people like me here. You see we Nigerians stick together no matter what mostly when it comes about our children. Am sure when your story gets to the hands of film producers in Nigeria, they would love to make a movie about your story. Is a very touching story to us all. I would love you to pay a surprise visit to your dad in Nigeria. By the way, you smile just like your dad. We have a saying in Nigeria, like father like daughter. That means you are a daddy's girl. You have a lovely family and I love you too my sister Habiba. Hope to hear from you love. Over and out
I'm here just balling tears😭😭😭😭
