- (November 2023) Now THIS is an interesting elevator. A historic elevator that was installed as a SALES SAMPLE. This is at a former OTIS elevator office in St. Louis. The elevator sat non functional for a while before it was lovingly restored to its current like new old stock condition. Enjoy as we ride the elevator and check out the bottom drive machine! Channel members get to see an unedited version of the video. I always find it interesting how the finished products flow differently than I shot them sometimes.

Very cool living piece of history right here. Hats off to whomever decided to restore this.
It is amazing. Thanks for the comment Alex 😃
I’m glad they are preserving this lift
Me too!
That’s so epic. Glad to see it still runs
Not only that. It has been restored.
Restoration not modernization...........@@DieselDucy
This thing has a lot of amazingness from looking at the setup, historic and it runs very great. No doubt about this amazing setup
It is epic
They did a great job of restoring this elevator!
They really did. Looks brand new!
The first elevator you remember riding was an original Montgomery Square Button at Famous Barr near St. Louis.
Correct.

Hello DieselDucy
It sounds like the Otis elevator is running smoothly and also in tip top shape😊
It was amazing
I’d love to see this in person sometime
It was awesome. Unfortunately this was a "one and done" meaning I really can't go back.
@@DieselDucy oh ok
Brand/Company: OTIS

Door type: outside manual door sliding right ▶️ with manual inside gate sliding right ▶️
Number of elevators: 1
Number of floors: 2
Amazing Beautiful and Epic elevator!
I hope this is still original as of February 2024!
This ain’t going anywhere. It is a show piece.
@@DieselDucy awesome! I love hearing that!
I love seeing the old school machinery behind it. The upper wheel on the cable- is that just to keep tension?
on the machine?
That is cool
It was amazing.
Did you have your childhood Game Boy modded with a backlit screen? The shell used to be off white, but now it’s orange.
I did
When will you film at the hotel Roanoke again?
Not sure
Wow that's cool & beautiful! And fast for 2 floors. I feel the inside buttons aren't original & instead they installed something that looks historically accurate, but even though it's not Otis it goes with the elevator perfectly.
I’ve seen these same buttons on some older Otis elevators from this time period.
Also was the gate originally automatic?
I can see the spring on it and I can see part of the door operator!
I am not sure. It may have just been spring loaded
@@DieselDucy gotcha!
Do you ride the elevator at the elevator museum that often Andrew
Sometimes
My My this is a one gem of an historic "sales sample Otis Elevator" Two floors, geared basement traction machine AC, combo controller and selector and the earlier two hoist ropes. I'm presuming the motor is a single speed 3 phase AC induction/slip ring it certainly stops smoothly on descents and assents. Perverse this historical elevator.
Yep. Very smooth for single speed.
andrew at daytime plz do the shot for level 5 at center in the square garage with bluey stuffed toy plz
I will film it again eventually.
Why is there a motorcycle parked in the building? Did you even try to start it?
It is not my bike
Is you elevator keys located at your apartment or your other house?
I honestly don't know where they are right now.
This should be considered as a vintage MRL elevator because the machinery is just in a tiny space below the stairs.
I see what you mean
That was the amazing historic Otis Elevator in St Louis.but I believe it’s so small and I can’t fit ,y wheelchair in it.
It is small
Now I know what demo elevators used to look like back in the 1930s
It is beautiful :)
With stl elevators Otis black button bottom drive traction scissor gate door with a view of the steps no floor indicator
This thing was beautiful. .
2 bad U couldn't walk the steps in that government building. That open-air stair case was epic.
I know. That place was epic
Do you and Zack live together or separate?
together.
Have you ever been stuck in an elevator?
Yea
How 'bout that cute little bike at 0:42?
That was awesome!
Who lives in apartment?
Me and zack.
Who has your other house?
I am not answering any more personal questions about my living situation.
Big thanks to the management for keeping this elevator in a nice condition instead of modernizing it.
totally!
Old
yep.
I love elevators 🛗 0:09
