    I built my first wooden power rack in 1977-78 as an eighteen year old after seeing photos of powerlifting pioneer and 1956 Olympic lifting gold medalist Paul Anderson (1,160 lb squat at 340-365 body weight) in a homemade wooden 4”x4” power rack. I had good luck except for the relatively soft metal cross bars between the upright posts.
    Your design is so much better!
    Thanks for thinking it all out!

    figures the cat uses it as a scratching post. Nice setup. Great idea, keep working out consistency is the key. Pull ups at the end, nice.

    Thx for the link C , had to sell things , and soon moving out of country and i refused to let go of the dumbells , but i dont feel like rebuying or importing neither , good thing i know bit of carpenting so no issues in creating this , but i would add another plank in the mid of the bench just in case of a snap

    Very psyched to try this. Do you have a guess as to how much weight the rack could take?

    • @KrumKrumQuidditch
      @KrumKrumQuidditch  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly I'm not sure. The whole thing would be more sturdy with 2x6's. I haven't had a problem loading up 191.5 lbs for squats and I don't intend to go much higher. Kind of cutting rn & workouts are subpar bc I'm on Accutane and my joints are dry. Better than nothing though :)

    The first week of quarantine i was looking for dyi fitness equipment... 3 weeks later, here they are! I only wish i had space. I'm limited to my balcony. What do you do when it rains or snows?

    • @Spruce-Bug
      @Spruce-Bug 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the even of rain or snow, you'll have to lift wearing swim goggles. In the event of hail, then wear safety glasses.

      it snowed in this vid but it was still pretty warm. i may look into a cheap gazebo but tbh hope to be back in the gym by winter. for rain n snow, i guess just layers? idk i canoe a lot so im pretty comfortable with uncomfortable weather... hope this helps n good luck training

    Great job!!! You could use braded vinyl tubing on your safety and j hooks to protect your bar's knurling. Just a question, what mold did you use on the second set of plates?

      I sincerely apologize for the late response but I ended up buying a diaper bin from someone off Kijiji. Buckets seem to be standardized to 12in but the bin was 16 :)
