YES....DEFINITELY WORTH IT. On one trip we went on a dog sled tour, were invited (they were probanly joking) us to ski, and loved the snowy ice caves. Weather was always nice at the top, but I'd go even if the valley cams showed fog.
Oh my goodness, dog sledding sounds incredible!! And you're absolutely right, always check the webcams because sometimes the Jungfraujoch is above the clouds!

I love how informational this video was! quick question if I book a day trip ticket up to the jungfraujoch are you able to hop off the train and explore for example lauterbrunnen or grindelwald for a couple hours and get back on the train and head up to top of Europe? Or are you supposed to board each train based on the scheduled times!

(When we were in Grindelwald in 2019, we were with my elderly aunt so decided not to go up there. Also, the Eiger express was under construction too.)
I reckon when we go, we might take the cable car to Eigergletscher and the train back down :)

Hi! Yep, you can go through Grindelwald on your way up to jungfraujoch, and then visit both Wengen and Lauterbrunnen on the way down!
Great content guys! Question: I'm coming in August and the day I'll be able to go is either a Fri, Sat, or Sun. I'm thinking this is the worst combination crowd-wise but don't have any flexibility. I'm going to plan on going there as early as possible but wonder if you feel it's still doable with the anticipated crowds and if you have any other crowd beating tips. We can't predict the crowds, but you should be alright if you go up first thing in the morning! (Most tourists like to sleep in, haha!)

Also on the way back from Jungfraujoch we would like to go to Lauterbrunnen so working back on your directions am I to believe we can get a train there from the station at Eigergletscher. Hi there! From the village of Grindelwald, you have to take the train that's going back in the direction of Interlaken Ost, but then you'd exit at the first stop (Grindelwald Terminal).
From Jungfraujoch, there's a train down to Kleine Scheidegg, then another from there to Lauterbrunnen (passing through Wengen). Hope that helps!

Hi, small Tipp if you want to see some traditional woodcarving. In Brienz is the school for woodcarving. There are around 30 students there and they learn everything form the wood, to the tools, to painting stuff… it’s really interesting to see, and Brienz itself is just a really beautiful village:)
We actually went there on our honeymoon and bought a cuckoo clock there 😁 Maybe we can feature that in another video one day! Thanks for the idea.
Hi Brett and Jana! I’ll be going at the end of March, so excited! I was looking at the website to book tickets in advance. I’m planning to get the Half Fare Card too. Would I still be able to book a Jungfraujoch ticket even before I get to Switzerland and “start” my Half Fare Card, or would they ask me to put something down to verify the Half Fare Card before I check out with the ticket? Would the ticket be like an email or separate mobile ticket, and then I’d also have to show my Half Fare Card in the SBB app when I get there?
Also I was debating on how early I should book the ticket in advance since we wouldn’t know what weather would be like.. does the price increase as the closer you get to the date you would want to visit? Thanks so much :)
Hi there! Prices won't increase as time gets closer, so there's really no need to book tickets far in advance. In fact, we never book in advance or reserve a seat-we just go early in the day before it gets too crowded (and avoid the weekend if possible).
You can book tickets through the SBB mobile app, and can do so even if you haven't "started" your half fare card yet. Just make sure it's valid when you travel, because you'll likely be asked to prove you have one!
Great video! I personally did not enjoy Top of Europe. The journey was exhausting, wife got elevation sickness, and the crowds were crazy. I would recommend passing on this!

how does berner oberland pass work ? will they allow me to ride train to grindelwald and eiger express just after conforming this pass or is there any other procedure
We're about to visit. If the weather is cloudy and rainy I guess it is best to wait for a clear day, even if that is another holiday?
So does the “top of Europe” pass cover the train rides up and free stuff like glacier walk etc? One pass for each person should be purchased correct?

Tickets can be purchased at any railway station and do not have to be purchased in advance.
Your vlog is quite informative and gave a lot of tips for future trips to Jungfraujoch. Do you recommend this with kids aged 13,10,8?
Absolutely! We went here with our nieces and nephews last year and they loved it. Very fun place for kids and families, especially the snow park and ice tunnels! (Just bring them a warm coat and hat since it’s pretty cold up there)

i want to cover the following spots in one day. interlakrn to grindelwald first and do first cliff. Followed by grindelwald to jungfrau taking eiger express and return from lauterbrunnen and halt there for few hours then back to interlaken. Is it a possible to cover in one day. If yes. What is the process of booking tickets for all the routes.
It’s very unlikely that you can do all of that in one day! You could do 2 of those things but not all 3 because of the time it takes to travel between each place (more than 1 hour for all of those routes). So pick your top 2 😊

hello! i like your contents a lot!! my question is, i have an interrail pass and that covers the train route; lauterbrunnen-kleine sheidegg-eigergletscher-jungfraujoch. when i book this ticket, will i be able to visit all of this places as well?
Hello! Be sure to make note that the Interrail pass only gives you a discount on the route that you mentioned, so you'll need to buy a ticket and ask for the appropriate discount. But once you have your ticket, you can stop and explore anywhere along the way, as long as you do so within the same day!!

We went here in 2021 and got screwed because we pre-bought tickets for top of Europe and the day we could go it was horrible weather and we could see absolutely nothing when we got up there. We did all the activities like the glacier and stuff but did not get the view at all. We are going back this September and we are wondering if it's worth the $130 extra we would have to pay for the two of us to go back up there just for the view, what do you think? Is it worth it to still see the view since we've already done all the activities up there? We are planning to go up First this year and we already did schilthorn last year.

One question, my husband and I are going at the end of May, we want to buy the Half Fare tickets, but my doubt is if it is necessary to buy the train tickets now to move between cities (we are going to visit Lucerne, Interlaken, Grindelwald, and the Top of Europe) or if we can buy them the day before through the SBB app or on the same day at the train station? Is it possible that we could run out of space?"
So glad our videos are helpful to you Arianna! We always buy our tickets on the same day we travel. It's technically possible that the train to Jungfraujoch could book up...but anytime we go up there during the week and early in the day, we never have a problem. And for the trains between cities, you shouldn't have any issue. Hope that helps!

Hi Karina! Your train ticket includes everything we showed on the tour accept for food, and if you want to do snow activities you'll have to pay extra. But yes, you can pay for those when you're up there.
