    This is a great video man.
    I bought 2 Spexel jerseys about 2 years ago as my first jerseys and they are pretty good (I still use them to this day). I can say that there are bargains out there for name brands, you just have to search for them and get lucky with the sizes available. The name brands use better fabrics and fit A LOT better than the spexel jerseys I bought initially. I currently own brands like Assos, Castelli, Giordana, Alé, Endura and DHB. The best value are DHB and endura. You can find their stuff for around $60-$70 for their pro level apparel and it is many times better than the Spexel jerseys i have.
    Hope that helps out

      Thanks for the kind feedback! I agree, the the name brands will often have better fit. The RION jersey in I wore in this video is actually quite a bit too large for me in hindsight. I also think that AliExpress and Chinese brands in general have come a LONG way in the past couple years. I'll try and get a few more jersey's from spexcel and the like in the next month for review, and in the meantime will check out those brands you mentioned. Cheers!

    Fit is extremely important and my experience with Chinese kits is that sizing is hit and miss. Just based on your fit I can clearly see that the le col fit is absolutely spot on whereas the rion one does not hug your body properly as the material does not conform. This is all personal but a proper fitting jersey actually gives you a huge aero advantage. With le col youre paying for this. Whether that’s worth the extra price will differ person to person but you’ll find as you get more experienced you will want to ride the better fitting jersey.

      Totally agree on the fit. Although had I purchased the right size, the fit would've been way better. I totally overestimated and got an XL, when I could've gotten a medium

      @@silkroadcycling2107 Thanks for the video! I'm looking to buy the exact same jersey on Ali (they are selling it again btw). I'm roughly your height (184cm) and 73kg and was looking for the L size. In this comment you mentioned that you got de XL size, but on the video, you say Large. Just checking to make up my mind between M and L! hehe Thanks again mate.

    I know “you get what you pay for” but 250 buck on a cycling jersey is too much for me. I just go 20 mile a day and spent that money for gear or bike. Nice video man.

    At $270, there's a plethora of brands to choose from, other than Le Col.

    Sup guys - Fellow Canadian here. I actually just bought a Le Col jersey ( the one that is orange/turquoise) I have Giordana, and a couple of AliExpress Jerseys. It seems to me that your Le Col might be a bad one in the bunch? Mine is like Top Notch, no threads nothing it is super light and so comfortable. I also used the Strava code and I agree with you that those Jerseys are too pricey, well for me. I am also a new cyclist. But the days that ill ride with a bunch of friends, long rides, food stop, Ill wear that LE Col. Nice to have one nice kit. Now the bibs are 200$ for the cheapest so this is gonna have to wait. But going back to the comparison, those Chinese ones are ok for me for short rides 20M less, weekly rides solo. I agree with you that having multiple options is great and at 150$ a pop it would be insane. I have 2-3 long sleeves from AliExpress but the material is... not wicking, doesn't really stop the wind so this is where a piece of quality can make a difference. All the while I'm writing this I am also shopping on Ali Express for some cheaper ones for everyday rides haha. The thing also, and sorry if I am rambling on and on, is that a decent Chinese jersey might run around 40-50$ as you mentioned and a very good Rapha jersey is 80$ ( in the US) so this is where for me I get stuck in buying 50% less product for better fit, style, and quality, or buying more for cheaper quality. Anyways thanks for your review.

      Wanted to say that my Le Col, which I got yesterday, is incomparable with any others I have. BUT, I'm 100$ poorer and wont go any faster :P

      Hey there! First off thanks for watching :). I definitely agree that the Le Col is more luxurious. I treasure it as if it is a fine commodity, and do the same as you, saving it for the special occasions. As I mentioned in the video, nice things are nice! But sometimes cycling is a dirty sport and at the end of the day the jersey is just a tool. Which jersey's did you buy from Aliexpress out of curiosity? Some brands are really hit and miss, but others are surprisingly quality.
      To your bib shorts point, I actually bought this jersey in a bundle with the bib shorts, so expect a review on those soon. If you combine the strava code with their 20% off bundles they do on weekends you can save almost 50%.

      It's a lot cheaper if you can find it on chain reaction. I got a good deal on the hors bibs. They are quite good, but the first pair I ordered le col pro were complete trash and stitching was terrible. Having a hard time now with another product I bought from le col that's crap.

    I got my le col from chinese manufacturer which makes for them. Got it for the price of Rion. Sticks to body like a lizard same as it did in the video. Rion doesnt seem to have that material to completely align to the torso

    Look into La Passione gear. Its not at Le Col, but its not Aliexpress. I am similar build to you, and suggest going Medium. Quality , fit and finish matches my MAAP and Rapha gear, yet if you buy it at the right time with sales/codes, you can get it 30-40% cheaper.

      2nd vote for la passione. but be aware it's italian sizing so you need to size up.

    Hi there my friend. SO you are recommending if when buying from AliExpress go for a smaller size, if e.g I', a XL 173cm, 87kg guy? To keep the more snug/ aero feeling?

    • @NS-zm6fw
      @NS-zm6fw 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would be very careful with this one! Quite often sizes on aliexpress are smaller than usual in Europe. Alternatively, it lists both Asian and European sizes. It is best if the seller provides a size chart and you measure yourself thoroughly at home with a tailor's tape measure.

    First of all...any of the Amazon inexpensive kits sold are sourced from China 🇨🇳. Secondly, I have purchased most of my kits from the China source, $20 avg, and have not had any issues in the past 3yrs. I wash my kits same day after I ride...and I average 100miles per week.
    At the end of the day...spend your money where you wish and see value.
    I just cannot justify spending 25% - 30% of what my groupset cost...😂😂😂
    Lastly, the China sources offer far more designs and offers a little more personality. If you are concerned about returns...buy from Amazon...it is the same Source.

    • @silkroadcycling2107
      @silkroadcycling2107  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed the amazon cycling clothes come from China. However there is a VERY large difference in quality. Buying from quality suppliers on AliExpress is night and day versus the cheap kits you see on amazon and the front page of Ali. Spexcel, Swiftofo, YBKYW are the my top 3 currently. Check em out!

    Le Col is the most overpriced brand out there. Their clothing is not even close to high quality. Priced super high to attract people with their Strava challenge discounts. Tricking people into thinking it's premium by the price, when in reality it's the opposite. It's not horrible, but price wise if compared to other premium brands, it's not even close.
