I caught this clip one day before I saw the whole film. I went, "What the fuck??" It grabbed me, then I had to watch the whole film. Even taken totally out of context this weird scene makes bizarre sense. It touched something in me that I couldn't articulate, which is very similar to how some scenes from a Lynch film touch me. Hartley is an amazing artist!!
Have been a long time fan of both directors, David Lynch and Hal Hartley, both have some interesting characters and dialogue but also have a great taste in music as I love the song that's playing in this scene as this is my 2nd favorite Hal Hartley movie after the Unbelievable Truth.
