I stayed with my In-laws in Berkeley; took bus to SF for school in mid 70's walking from the SF Bus Depot to fifth where classes were held. Still my Favorite City.
All those empty storefronts baffle me. Presumably the rent for most or many is too high. I never understood why a landlord would prefer to make no money, versus charging a competitive rate and making money. Am I missing something?
