A DJ has a spiritual connection with their own decks. I could use mine without looking at them at tis point. I remember when I switched from DDJ-400 to Prime 4 I basically forgot how to DJ for weeks. It was such an upheaval learning everything again! If hardware is solid enough to last, there is not much reason to upgrade once you get to a certain point. That's one of the nice things about DJing.
Hey Denver! First time viewer here, decided to give your channel a shot! I’ve been DJing for two years and just upgraded to the DDJSR2. I’ve done a ton of research on this controller and decided that they were the logical upgrade for me from the DDJSB3. One of the main reasons why I like the SR2 is because of the pitch in time, Key sync, and key shift features that are on the decks. However, once out of the box, none of these features are working… I can mix with the controller just fine, and use all of the other features, but I’m not able to figure out how to use those three buttons. Any advice?
Rekordbox DJs could use the DDJ-RR, which is practically the same controller, unlocking Rekordbox instead of Serato Pro. Agreed that it’s a reliable workhorse… I’ve been gigging with mine since 2016!
question!! how do you switch between decks 1-2 to decks 3-4? I cant find an explanation for this anywhere and I've looked for quite some time pls help :)
Are you talking about it getting recorded into mix with serato? If so, you need to use a rca loop from master/booth into input 1 or 2 rca. Then you change the master mix output in serato to whichever rca channel 1 or 2 you've looped into. Also, if the mic sounds muffled or too much noise gate (sounds quiet or weak), then you'll have to put it into boot mode, search the manual and change your microphone settings
@@reni3 thanks! I’m just trying to plug in an SM58 and get noise to come out of the speakers. Nothing happens… once I master this simple operation I wanted to run a zoom vocal effects module and add some robot effects. I know there is some simple solution, I just can’t figure it at the moment.

Right! We spend sooo much time at these decks that they are just an extension of us!
Loving the specs 🤓
I have both sr and sr2 love them both now using ddj 800
That's awesome! The DDJ-800 looks sweet too!
It's a old dj gear, however, very reliable.
I have a DDJ sz and it works very well also.
👍
how about the ddj sr 1 version, is it still functionable?

I really want an answer on this as well. Looking to buy my first dj controller for serious djing.
@@DaRubenGyou need to make sure you activate the pitch & time extension for serato. Should be an activation key card in the packaging.
Did you activate the pitch & time extension?
@@nodowt Yes haha I did get it figured out
Sr2 is not even a question from multiple outputs its already a win win

That's true! I'm glad you've been gigging with it for so long. Hope to keep mine working for many more years to come haha
@@youtubekilledtrustedflaggi9274 There are phono and line inputs on the DDJ-RR as well. (That's how I started using DVS.)

Hey there
A question about the audio outputs: can I use both of them at the same time (RCA + CANNON) or you have to use just one of them?
hmm, I haven't tried using both the RCA and XLR outputs together yet so not sure.
Even if it a first machine only taught us our flaws it was worth it. ✨️
Lol our time is precious
Hiii. Do you still use this controller?
Rekordbox dj here! I would like to get into serato just because
Do it! I think with the addition of Serato Stems it will be a fun switch over. There's also software to transfer over your cues and such!
I have issues getting a microphone to work. Is it as simple as plug in and speak?

I agree, it's a great controller! thanks for letting me use yours 💀

What about firmware updates
Thank a looooot, the only long time tests you can believe these days, cap. Out (*shwush, only unpleasant smells were left in the air)
