    A DJ has a spiritual connection with their own decks. I could use mine without looking at them at tis point. I remember when I switched from DDJ-400 to Prime 4 I basically forgot how to DJ for weeks. It was such an upheaval learning everything again! If hardware is solid enough to last, there is not much reason to upgrade once you get to a certain point. That's one of the nice things about DJing.

      Right! We spend sooo much time at these decks that they are just an extension of us!

    It's a old dj gear, however, very reliable.
    I have a DDJ sz and it works very well also.

    i'm considering one because my SX is getting kinda messed up and i'm not trying to throw alot of money for another SX model so the SR is a nice smaller version of what the SX offers which is pretty sweet!

    Rekordbox DJs could use the DDJ-RR, which is practically the same controller, unlocking Rekordbox instead of Serato Pro. Agreed that it’s a reliable workhorse… I’ve been gigging with mine since 2016!

      @callmedenver  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's true! I'm glad you've been gigging with it for so long. Hope to keep mine working for many more years to come haha

      @TH-cam killed trusted flagging There are phono and line inputs on the DDJ-RR as well. (That's how I started using DVS.)

    Hey Denver! First time viewer here, decided to give your channel a shot! I’ve been DJing for two years and just upgraded to the DDJSR2. I’ve done a ton of research on this controller and decided that they were the logical upgrade for me from the DDJSB3. One of the main reasons why I like the SR2 is because of the pitch in time, Key sync, and key shift features that are on the decks. However, once out of the box, none of these features are working… I can mix with the controller just fine, and use all of the other features, but I’m not able to figure out how to use those three buttons. Any advice?

      I really want an answer on this as well. Looking to buy my first dj controller for serious djing.

      @@DaRubenGyou need to make sure you activate the pitch & time extension for serato. Should be an activation key card in the packaging.

    Sr2 is not even a question from multiple outputs its already a win win

    Hello Denver, nice video!
    I got a FLX4, bought in substitution to an old DDJ RB, but I'm not so satisfied with the controller, it's volume and gain control is not good, so I thought of buying an used SR2 as it looks more pro style and it is cheaper than the FLX6. I play mostly house, but I wanna play 80's, 90's, and eurodance.
    What worries me a bit on the SR2 is the tempo slider, it is as small as I got on my FLX4. Can you tell me if it's easy to set-up the tempo manually on both songs on Serato (which is a software I will have to learn how to use)?
    I wanna beat-match by ear, coz I deeply hate syncing lol for me DJing is only funny when done by ear.
    Thanks a lot if you can answer! :)

      You can edit the tempo in the Serato software like you mentioned! You have to do it when preparing your crate and generally not on the fly. You can also change the tempo slider sensitivity in serato so it can go up or down in larger intervals

    question!! how do you switch between decks 1-2 to decks 3-4? I cant find an explanation for this anywhere and I've looked for quite some time pls help :)

    • @djgustavvo
      @djgustavvo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      At this time you may have discovered how to do it, but it's simple, on top of mixer, next to load buttons, you got the switch, between deck 1-3, 2-4 or phono/line. If you wanna switch from 1 to 3, just push the button, the deck 1 will keep playin' and the 3 will switch to control.

    Hey there
    A question about the audio outputs: can I use both of them at the same time (RCA + CANNON) or you have to use just one of them?

    • @callmedenver
      @callmedenver  ปีที่แล้ว

      hmm, I haven't tried using both the RCA and XLR outputs together yet so not sure.

    I have issues getting a microphone to work. Is it as simple as plug in and speak?

    • @reni3
      @reni3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you talking about it getting recorded into mix with serato? If so, you need to use a rca loop from master/booth into input 1 or 2 rca. Then you change the master mix output in serato to whichever rca channel 1 or 2 you've looped into.
      Also, if the mic sounds muffled or too much noise gate (sounds quiet or weak), then you'll have to put it into boot mode, search the manual and change your microphone settings

    • @TheAnalogsamurai
      @TheAnalogsamurai ปีที่แล้ว

      @@reni3 thanks! I’m just trying to plug in an SM58 and get noise to come out of the speakers. Nothing happens… once I master this simple operation I wanted to run a zoom vocal effects module and add some robot effects. I know there is some simple solution, I just can’t figure it at the moment.
