Other surrounding countries shouldn't be fearful, envious, have distrust causing conflict. China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Phillipines, Japan, Indonesia, all the Far East, Asia, South East Asia have enjoyed peace, prosperity, stability for few decades and China and those countries will NOT/shouldn't be influenced by AUKUS, other countries outside the region to cause envy, fear, distrust, conflict for their own agenda/ego. This video contains some historical inaccuracies.
    1. The Sultanate of Melaka was established in the 15th century by Iskandar Shah (supposedly in 1400). Not the 5th-7th century.
    2. Malaysia is not the successor state to the Melaka Sultanate. Following the invasion of Melaka by the Portuguese, the Melaka sultanate fled to Johor to establish the Johor Sultanate. Therefore, the modern state of Johor which is now part of the Federation of Malaysia is the successor state to the Melaka Sultanate.
    3. It is inaccurate to use "Malaysian Chinese" as a synonym for peranakans because Malaysia did not exist at the time and "peranakans" also settled in Singapore which became a separate country from Malaysia. The descendants of those migrants now living in Singapore do not consider themselves as "Malaysian Chinese".

Yes that is why Malaysia have 'new economic policy' in place. This to distribute country wealth more evenly across all races in Malaysia which is Malay, Chinese, Indian and Bumiputra Sabah & Sarawak. Certain quota put in place so that all races have their places in education, business, or government job sectors.
Imagine if malaysian chinese control 90% of economy, this will create racial tension that we had back in 13 May 1965, especial 67%++ of malaysian people is malay / bumiputra. Up to date chinese only control 65%++ of our country wealth as compared to our fellow indonesian counterpart which surprisingly, the indonesian chinese control 85% of the economy.
Some will question malaysian government moves as unfair or racist. But we must look back what had our colonial british done to this country? After they come here drain all our natural resources by bringing a lot of immigrant from CHINA and INDIA, they left this country in chaos. Dont forget tinnes mines or rubber estate is controls by gangs / gangster and we are fighting communist at that time. Thus when we are want to become independent, the pre-requisite of our constitution to accept our fellow chinese and indian friends, we also need to protect of special right of malay / bumiputra / native as the original people of the land. Let not forget about what happened to native American / Australia / apartheid in South Africa.
At one time chinese population actually more than 50% of total malaysia federation. After malaysia gain independent, and Sabah, Sarawak, join malaysia federation (singapore). Suddenly chinese population skyjump, this is because, chinese in ASEAN region, starting flocking in as they want to become permanent resident instead of immigrant worker in other countries. thats is why in 13 Mei 1965, malaysia have no choice to kick out singapore. Im glad singapore progress so much while malaysia still stuck with racial issues and corrupt politician.
But this our countries and we love our king, our food, our beach, our culture, our differences, thats what make our country unique in its own way. as our fellow chinese and indian, we dont view them as china or india immigrant, but as our fellow malaysian for this blood & soil. Lets live harmony, and hopefully we can progress better as one nation, as Malaysian =)

I personally feel that the relationship of China and Malaysia is of business and political nature. There are benefits for each another therefore the relationship is maintained at an equilibrium. At any given point when it is not, whichever side will do something to trigger the other side to show that both countries are equal and won't simply submit.
The future is obvious, mutual beneficial with constant weighing of pros and cons until another offer that is too good to say no comes.
For now, China is welcome in Malaysia and is a hope that the balance mutual respect relationship can be maintained.

@@iamgreat1234 Funny there seems to be a censorship here. My reply seems to have been deleted. I just replied that Sabrizain historian on Sejarah Melayu has documented this. The connection with India is ancient and well known and documented in universities. The earliest references to the word Malay is found in the Ramayana and in the Vayu Purana the ancient Indian literature. Persia is far away and Persia has a connection with the Sanskrit language. It is derived from Sanskrit which is much older. The Bujang valley in Kedah which is a UNESCO heritage site shows Sanskrit inscriptions. In some Sabrizain’s website (the link is provided below) written for the layman; the connection with ancient India is highlighted. The ancient Kings of Malay history can trace their connection back to southeast Sumatra. Sumatra itself being a Sanskrit word. The location is in Jambi, and the names of the early kings are provided by Sabrizain. Even in Thailand their ancient Kings were named after Rama as in the Ramayana and their capital was Ayudhya the same as Ayodhya the birth place of Ram in India. This is TH-cam which belongs to Google in the US. Knowledge is free to be not censored so fact checking can occur. Otherwise its distortion of history.

I do not know Malaysia and China that well. But I'll say for Malaysia and China to be strong and stable, there must be no corruption in government and the people. This is impossible even for those in 1st world countries like USA. and that Indexes are perceptions and do not reflect real situations. There are likely some red flags but glossed over. Who knows who is really behind these videos ? A caucasian voice does not always means the youtuber is someone from the west. Voices can be tweaked these days or sponsored. Signs is that Malaysia government is not stable. and the number of scandals over the years. The Ukraine war has shown that China is probably helping Russia behind but not openly. This can be from buying Russian oil, and then trading to Neutral countries. and there are many countries buying oil directly from Russia anyway. Some youtube channels are showing that China is literally in chaos mode now, with high record temperatures and absurd Covid policies. This force Chinese citizens from China to flee in any way possible, and I guess Malaysia may be one of their destinations to park their wealth or simply to escape China current environment. But it seems they can't do it in the usual way. and it is better they all choose Malaysia actually. There are problems of illegal logging in east malaysia and Borneo, and in Papua. Malaysia seems like going to have a big problem in Sabah in the near future. Don't let some flattery cloud your minds. Money is not everything. We try to survive in this world. Civilizations sometimes go on an expansionistic spree, because of the need to get resources. This region of ASEAN is coveted interestingly by various big powers.
