Actually, lie detectors are almost always false, they only tell you're lying if you're stressed, even if you're telling the truth. You just have to be calm to get past one.

Lie detectors don’t work. Although some humans do make movements/actions like blinking or twitching when they lie, it is not considered to be enough evidence to reasonably accuse someone of lying.
