  • Mira Mesa is a neighborhood located in the northern part of San Diego, California. It has a diverse population, with a mix of young professionals, families, and college students. The area is home to several tech companies and is a hub for the biotech industry. The job market is strong, and there are many employment opportunities in the area.
    The neighborhood is relatively affordable compared to other areas in San Diego, with a median home price around the city average. It has good public schools, making it a popular choice for families with children. Mira Mesa is also known for its abundant parks and recreational areas, including the popular Miramar Lake, which offers hiking, biking, and fishing.
    One of the downsides of living in Mira Mesa is that it can be congested and crowded, especially during rush hour. The area is also known for having a high crime rate, particularly property crimes like burglary and theft. However, overall, Mira Mesa is a vibrant and diverse community with plenty of amenities and opportunities for its residents.

    Lived in Mira Mesa back in 1982. Drove through just not even a month ago. Waaaaay different. Sister ice skated there competitively, with Roslyn Summers. Very nice community

      @@BernMcGovern hey no offense. I’m a long time viewer and transplant to the area. Your videos have been very informative in respect of the ‘hoods “off the 56”, which are typically upper middle class / affluent. The offshoots along the coast also fit into that theme (Encinitas etc.).
      MM is definitely lower middle class to middle class. Not a dig at it-it’s just a fact. I grew up in a place just like it.

    Mira Mesa is an unlivable car-centric suburban hellscape so hopefully they do improve it, no matter what the NIMBYs say.

    Mira mesa ain’t up and coming. If u don’t have money u never lived there. It’s been mid/ high end loving area. Not as new as scripps ranch, rancho peńasquitos, Carmel mountain but it’d been up there close 2 50 years and counting

    • @BernMcGovern
      @BernMcGovern  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It doesn’t have to be new to be up and coming. It’s been in a bit of a transition over the last 5-10 years
