When I was a kid, I was scared of natural disasters so much that I find 2012 more scarier than most horror films. Around my childhood, I like Absol for its cool design. And when I read Absol’s Pokédex entry, I began to like Absol even more.
And now, Absol is my favourite Pokemon till this day.

I remember being in middle school, 6th grade, when Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald came out and it was amazing. I remember playing this on the bus with my friend and we would get made fun of for still playing Pokémon. Good times, though. We bonded so much over this and I’ve never stopped playing. At least some Dark types can use Psychic moves though, such as Umbreon.
I think Dark / Evil more represents the mysterious and unknown, a lot like Psychic and Ghost in fact. Zorua / Zoroark are a great example of this.

Hmm, I'd say it's a dark type because of the dark fate of knowing death and destruction are coming. Sometimes it's the Pokemon's lifestyle that is dark. Like the horrible fate of being blind, alone, and hungry until you mature, then being blind and attached to a rival you're forced to hate because one of you looses your consciousness if you eat less. So, by the time you've fully matured you're an emotional wreck that knows nothing but pain, violence, and desperation. That is the tragic life of Hydreigon.

I actually have a theory that I heard from someone else and believe in. The theory is that Absol was once a Psychic-type Pokemon but had to adapt and eventually become a Dark-type because of it being hunted down by humans.
